POPULAR POST!

I found this really useful site (http://www.checker.f...oxy.ru/checker/) that checks if proxies are working or not FOR FREE! Here is a screenshot of it:
20hudxf.png

Another extremely useful thing it does is that it parses out proxies and ports if you copy paste a large number of proxies from HideMyAss or something.

Here is the checker checking the proxies and anonymity of each one:

You can check 5000 proxies a day, but only 100 at a time. The success rate of the working proxies from HideMyAss that actually "work" is about 30%. Without the proxy checker, the success rate is as low as 10% :( Be sure to check the proxy manually in a browser/network settings! Have fun with this tool :)

I updated this guide a bit. The site now has a limit of 5000 proxies a day, which is much more than you will probably ever need to test :p Before, when they first implemented the limit, the limit was something ridiculously low like 100 a day, but now it's 5000 so yay :D

Depends. Usually free proxies break really fast, but sometimes you get lucky and find a proxy that lasts for months.

Quick question! Is it possible for a proxy to stop working suddenly? I'm especially concerned for this when I'm away and running programs like abers and such. So, if an account logs in successfully w/a proxy, but while it's working, the proxy dies, will my actual IP be visible? Sorry if unclear, I'm not sure how to explain this precisely.

If a proxy fails, then you won't be able to access the Internet at all :p So, you don't have to worry about it failing and defaulting to your home IP.

Thanks for providing this. I'm definitely going to use this as there are other websites that I need to use proxies on. Great find!

Edit: How do you actually use that checker? It is coming up saying that there are no proxies on the list?

I'd imagine that you need to paste proxies into the list box.

I tried that, by typing the URL of the proxy in question (plus the IP address from whatismyipaddress.com) but it still said that there are no proxies in the list?

If only I'd have known this about 2 months ago; then I wouldn't have got banned from another forum (totally unrelated to Neopets) for creating multiple forum IDs. As I only knew a couple of proxies, all my alt accounts were off the same IP, got clocked, and traced to my main too... Damn :(
