Just stumbled upon this https://hola.org/ I have no idea how secure it is, but it might be of use to some of you :)

Maybe someone with a little more expertise can share their opinion :p it is listed on mozilla's add-ons page https://addons.mozil...fox/addon/hola/ but I'm not sure if that means anything either

A little explanation of how Hola! works thanks to @Eefi

Using a proxy means data is routed like this:
Neopets -> Proxy -> you
Now everyone who is using Hola is a potential proxy. That means when you have Hola installed, it will randomly assign you as a proxy for others. E.g. UserX requests a porn site.
Porn site -> you -> UserX
My guess is, each time one Hola user requests a site, it picks a random new proxy from all the users that are currently running.

You'll probably be fine with using it. But make sure you don't save cookies when you're accessing different accounts. Otherwise your accounts can be linked even though your IP is always changing.

Wow, this certainly is interesting. If it is secure, it would be a great way to browse neopets on a shell.

i was introduced to hola a few days ago actually. i was trying to watch a show in mtv.com but i couldn't because the videos are available only for americans. i came across a comment asking to download hola and i did. it's great. all i need to do is type in the address and select what nation i want to access the website from.

The explanations all seem a bit over-simplified so I'm not sure if I would recommend it. They certainly won't be giving away proxy bandwidth for free so it sounds like a "everyone who uses Hola acts as a potential proxy". So sort of like TOR but a bit more user-friendly and you don't get to choose whether you want to play proxy or not.

Ok, I skimmed over their FAQ and if you're not a Premium user, you're a proxy for others. They have a few proxy servers themselves but on the long term it looks more like their "Premium" service is intended as selling the bandwidth of their users.

Using a proxy means data is routed like this:

Neopets -> Proxy -> you
