I played it for a while but got bored because none of my friends played 
I might start up again if I can remember my Origins account.

I played it when I still had a smart phone. I don't have the phone any longer but it gets boring after awhile.

I've seen this at the top of the "Top Grossing" games list on the App Store.
What's it all about? I'm guessing it's microtransaction-based which has always put me off thus far.

It is if you want it to be. Luckily you don't need to spend any money for the game to progress thank god. You can get premium items but all they do is add on and give you bonuses.
