I know that I am incredibly late to the party but I recently got a bright pink 3ds and Animal Crossing (I only bought the ds because of acnl...) and I loooooooooove it! Does anyone here still play?
I don't really care, here are my villagers so far:

The black pig has got to be my favourite. The way she talks cracks me up and also the sounds she makes. She's also wearing a skull shirt, I sent her and is just a really, really badass pig.

I still play. What type of fruit does your town have? Because I'm missing apples and cherries. If you don't have oranges,pears, peaches, lemons or durians, I can give you those. If your island doesn't have any of these, I'll give you these too, coconuts, mangos, or bananas.

I do have apples right from the start and planted cherries. I am missing peaches (which I badly want because they look like butts!) I also don't have pears and didn't know there are any! Island wise I don't have mangos and coconuts. Oh my I want coconuts real bad now!
I am really new to the whole nintendo thing though, so I have no idea how you 'play together' and give each other things... I might annoy you big time with that!

 

In a month I'm going to be bored as shit at home and will want to play, I'll get in touch then!

I still play acnl everyday, I love it (I even maintain 2 towns  , one to cycle on and a main). I'm pretty active in the acnl community on tumblr and have just about any item or sets. Let me know if anyone needs/wants anything! 

Current villagers: merengue*, felicity*, gayle*, rudy, lolly*, octavian, marshall*, flurry*, and fuchsia (*= permanent). I still want Marina and Tia!

I had the same problem with jocks when I first made my town! One is fine enough, I agree. Have you tried cycling them out? Lazy Beau is great, though. :>

So now that 3DS homebrew is a thing and you can backup/import saves with it, and there's a save editor, I've been fixing up my town a little and

I wanna start it up soon but yea i'm rather afraid of losing my villagers too. Then again there's so much i need to do, it feels like a loss if i don't do anything...

 

Btw did anyone see the trailer for happy home designer? initally i thought it was a downgraded version of new leaf but it seems to have its own flair to it. Any of you guys interested?

If you lose them you can just add them back in with the save editing tool I was using :3c It can't create new characters so you'd be changing an existing character into the one you want but it's still an option. You can mass remove weeds too which is really handy!!

 

BUT HELL YES I wanna play Happy Home Designer right now!! I really hope they bring some of the features they put in that (like being able to move rugs and decorating outside with furniture) into the next big Animal Crossing game!! The food they have in it looks pretty cute too <3

I'm just kinda curious to see how it works though, since you add characters with those amiibo cards right? There's going to be at least 2 series and each series has about 100 cards to it if I remember correctly... I wonder if it's possible to run out of town space in HHD and if you can, what happens when you scan a new card in >w> And I mean I'm not expecting you to be able to use every single card in the series but it would kinda suck not having all the characters you want just from space limitations.

Yeah it kinda sucks, especially since there are so many cards and I don't think many people are gonna know if you buy a whole box you're guaranteed to get the whole set :x

Mmmnn, I don't think you can bring them back but even though when you switch a character to a different one it says that it resets the villager, they keep the old villager's happiness levels so they'll still be friends with you rather than act like you haven't met them before ^^ Apparently you can get them out of boxes with the tool too but I don't remember seeing any sorta option like that in the editor. I'll have to have another look around actually now that I think about it, it'd make sense if the option only appears if they're currently in boxes >w> I would check if I could hahah

That could be pretty shitty through. I love it when nintendo provided so much after game launch dlc for new leaf it was great. Not that the game needed it of course since the core gameplay is really great.....

Nope, you need them for Happy Home Designer too.
 

Happy Home Designer, as well as being the first Animal Crossing series game compatible with amiibo, introduces card amiibo for the first time. These come bundled in small packs and are cheaper than model amiibo. They can be used to unlock design requests from the villagers depicted on the cards, and they also can be used to view rooms that the player has designed for them.
 
Players can use amiibo on their New Nintendo 3DS systems, because it has an in-built NFC reader, which is necessary to use amiibo. Nintendo 3DS and 2DS users can buy the NFC reader peripheral, which was released on the same day as Happy Home Designer. (and available in a bundle)
 
It has been stated that the Villager amiibo from the Super Smash Bros. series can be scanned for a bonus item.

 
I don't know if villagers come to your town without them too though? I'm looking for info but not really finding anything. But nah, it's a full priced game. You'd think that it would be a budget game but it isn't >w> It's just way different than the main series games since you can't walk around your town, socialize with the animals, I don't think you even have your own house, all that kinda stuff. It's just a game focused on the interior/exterior design part of the game :0 I wonder if the new Animal Crossing amiibo will be compatible with it too.
 
You can at least design the little shopping area without cards though lol

Bummer. I really hope that the cards don't have too much alternate content in them. Can you imagine what if villagers were locked behind them for new leaf? Oh the horror!

Then again, some of the amibos are really cute, especially the isabella one haha. Won't mind rebooting it again just for it.

 

 

 

 I found this video of the shopping area? I like how it feels so much more alive with all the villagers chilling around in the same place. It definitely feels very different than new leaf (and not in a bad way)

 

Also...i think i need some help on new leaf. How long did it take to find gracie? It's bugging me how its so dependent on rng for her to appear (with the right fashion outlook)
