I am reeeeally crazy when it comes to my skin so the little chart is neat. Not sure if it's legitimate or not but don't care. lol It's cool.

I also love my makeup so, thanks for this post. I am sure @Kat will appreciate it too.

I'm not sure how scientifically accurate that face-map is, but if it helps, it helps, I guess.

I'm sure @Kat will have lots to contribute.

I own way more make up than I should... Thank you for the master list! I'm looking over it atm and wow... so much information!

I've seen face mapping before but sometimes I find them conflicting but have had good luck in knowing when I'm lacking in certain parts of my health!

Never seen this master list before, it's neat. I got all my tips from browsing /r/makeupaddiction

Aaaaand I don't think the face chart is super accurate, it might be for some people but everyone's skin is different.

Maybe I'll start a skincare thread or something.. I'm not a professional or anything but I've learned a lot over the years ^^

PLEASE?!

I've been browsing youtube for tutorials and whatnot. Currently learning how to do a winged eyeliner and its so much harder than it looks! All you ladies and gents that have mastered the art...I'm very impressed!

It's taken me about 10 years to perfect, but I still haven't mastered it honestly. :p I do have a makeup blog, but I'm hesitant to post it here. You can PM me if you want to look at it ^_^

Pretty certain the chart isn't accurate, however, cutting out alcohol, keeping properly hydrated, sleeping enough, eating adequately, and not smoking are all very good ideas. Everyone's skin issues are different. In my case, I generally have clear skin until I have hormonal changes. My skin is naturally very oily (a blessing) so I exfoliate it after I shower with a sugar scrub. While my skin is still wet from removing the exfoliant, I put some moisturizer on as that's when it's most effective. The exfoliant removes the oils, dirt, and dead skin which can clog up pores while the moisturizer replaces those oils which is very important. Also... I don't wear any powder/foundation/etc. Only concealer if needed for a slight break out. I'm convinced that some make up is terrible for your skin and creates a cycle where you wear more to cover up the fact that the make up made your skin worse in the first place :\

As far as I know, wearing make-up even on a daily basis is not really a problem for your skin - as long as you take care of it (for example removing all of the make- up before going to bed, using a creme/lotion that matches your skin type; I used the normal bebe-creme before but since I started using one for dry skin, it's much better). I also think it depends on what you want for yourself- 5 years ago, I baaarely used any make-up and if so, I tried to be as natural as possible, just a tiny bit of mascara and maybe a little bit concealer for my skin under my eyes/around my nose.

And now I absolutely love wearing dark red lipstick, mascara and eyeliner and stuff like that. I don't really care anymore whether I look "natural", I just want to feel satisfied when I look into the mirror, I want to be able to smile and say "Hell yeah, I rock!"

And I absolutely agree that the chart probably isn't that accurate. I'm blessed with fairly clean skin, so I never had to deal with it anyway (so it's not like I had acne and it magically disappeared after using that map);

but whenever small stuff appears, I just look up at the chart and try to improve my habits again (because I tend to drink too little, for example). I'd kind of treat it as a horoscope; probably not that accurate, but it doesn't hurt you to look out a little bit, right? At least it surely won't make your skin worse if you cut out the alcohol and greasy food, for example :p

The skin one is scarily accurate. : x My skin is super clean, but whenever something pops up (lol) it's usually in the 1, 2, 6, and 13 areas. And I've been really worried about how much junk food I eat/my heart health lately. Been trying to cut off on junk food and am eating more healthy, and you know what?
Haven't had anything on my skin lately.
As for the make up, I've always wanted to start to wear it. I know it sounds silly, but it's kind of embarrassing to think about starting to wear it, having to learn how to use it properly and stuff? But I do like it! This might be just what I needed.

I don't know if this has been said anywhere, but I like to use tape to get a super sharp winged eyeliner line...like this! http://www.hotbeauty...tip-look-02.png

You should definitely try it!  It's really useful!

I don't know if this one has been mentioned either, but NYX has a line of "jumbo eye pencils", and the "milk" (white) is an INCREDIBLE eyeshadow primer.  I used it once and have since never been pleased with anything else.  It makes the cheapest of eyeshadows look high end.

I've been pretty pleased with the (admittedly few) NYX products I've tried. They have a green concealer that I use and love, since I have red patches on my skin.

I try to keep my makeup looking as natural as possible; anything too strong looks ridiculous on me. I love looking at crazy and colorful looks that people will do in tutorials though.

I've been getting more into skincare lately. I used to be pretty crappy about washing my face regularly, and it showed. My face is mostly cleared up now, but there are still problems (oiliness, red patches) that I want to try and fix.

Make a facial scrub with brown sugar and honey to exfoliate the shit out of your skin.

If you wear liner on your lower lid, I always have had problems with it running or fading. Recently a friend suggested to wipe the water line with a q-tip before putting on liner. I've noticed a pretty good improvement!

Hey guys,

I'm a qualified Beauty Therapist. I don't have massive amounts of experience in the field but I've certainly done all the study. If you have any questions ask me! My two biggest tips are:

Throw away your mascara after three months! Otherwise, you run the risk of eye infections, skin infections, sties and breaking your eyelashes. The way to work out whether your mascara is off is the 'smell test' -- buy a new mascara, smell yours and then smell it. If yours smells like chemicals and rotten vegetables, then it goes without saying that you throw it out. Also, never pump your mascara, scoop it instead and wipe off the excess on the lid. If you pump it you let in more air and it dries out a lot faster.

Also, never use coconut oil on any areas you have problems with pimples! It's incredible comedogenic (causes blackheads and pore blockage) and will only make the situation worse. Coconut oil, however, can be used as a makeup remover IF you use a good cleanser afterwards.

I've always had problems with unwanted facial hair/unruly eyebrows, and I'm too embarrassed to go and have it professionally waxed, and too cheap to buy a wax warmer & wax, so I started making "sugaring paste" and using it. It works really well for me and I love it! It lasts longer than shaving, and it's not as time consuming as tweezing. You do still have to tweeze stray hairs and stuff, but it's not usually a lot.
