After seeing @dkmjohnny 's status I decided to check how many points I accumulated aaand now I have no idea what to spend them on.

 

Neopet Trading for Beginners costs 8,000 to buy and is gong for upwards of 2 million but will it retain it's value?

Stone Foam Finger is 16,000 and is selling for 2.2 million.

Altador Cup VIII Commemorative Stamp is 4,000 points and sell for 500,000.

 

What are some worthwhile investments?

Books and stamps, usually

 

Don't forget the 101 Slushie Recipes book selling for 150k, just in case you're down to your last 2000 points

I'd say go for the finger.  It's a powerful weapon if you use it in the BD, and worth +2 Million if you decide to sell.

If you're especially an impatient person, definitely go for the foam finger. It has inelastic value and immediate demand among players. In all honesty, I hate investing in books and stamps because even if the price increases, it's still hard to sell for full price.

If you're going for the finger, you should be aware that TNT has been known to release newer, more powerful weapons that will might cause the price of older weapons to take a dip. Try not to hold on to it for too long I guess..

Stamps and books are good for the very very long term, but can also be HTS as Keil pointed out. I personally haven't made up my mind on which prizes to get either. :x
