Hello! I am not an expert in internet security - all my knowledge comes from tryng to be safe when sharing P2P. Living in a country with a very strict anti-piracy policy - I received a big fine to pay, back in the days when I did not see the difference between torrents and other downloads - I always use a good VPN to protect me.
Here on Neocodex I've seen a lot of discussion about proxies and IP protocol, like the discussion "How not to get banned using ABs". As far as I know, proxies apply a filter only on the browser, and Neopets doesn't see your IP - which is good. But when using external programs - such as an AB or a SS - your IP is revealed to Neo.
Let's say that someone has got two accouns: a main account and a cheat account, and this persons doesn't want them to ever be connected to each other. When he decides to use a cheating program, his true IP is being revealed and the cheat acc is connected to the main. Using a VPN would solve this problem.
Now, is this a real issue, or am I completely wrong?
