NeoCodex Photographica

 

I am sure that you can guess what the overarching theme of this contest is:

Photography!

 

On the first Monday of each month, a theme will be given, and a deadline set.

Your challenge, should you choose to accept it, will be to take a photograph (or choose one from your own back catalogue) that satisfies the theme as best you can manage.

There will be two winners each month, one selected by a small panel of judges based on my own criteria, and another based on a public vote. There will be no runners up, and one person may win both prizes.

Prizes will include a shiny award, and potentially donations from community-minded members.

Each month's winners will then help judge the next round, and be ineligible to win (although they may enter for fun!).

You must be getting that storm we had earlier this morning, Keil. They said at noon that it's attached to a slow moving cold front.

 

 

It's called, "Daya recycled a picture she took as a photog student in high school."

 

I'm particularly proud of it, since it was pre-phone-pic craze. I took the photo, I developed the film, I printed the picture in the darkroom and I finally framed it last year, because not only am I particularly fond of the photo, but it represents a bygone era--the subject is deceased and hardly anyone takes a photo with an actual film camera anymore (much less a no-flash-and-manual-film-advance one as that was).

 

 

 

P.S.: I tried to keep it as vague as possible so it wouldn't be obvious which was mine when they were posted.

I'd like to enter this (and am glad that the deadline is the 15th rather than sooner), only I suck as a photographer. I enjoy participating in things though and so will definitely try to enter.

Does anyone have any tips on how to get the pictures from my camera phone to not be all shitty when I upload them? They look fine on my phone, but when I upload them, they look horrible unless I severely resize them.
