Hello and welcome to the first ever Neocodex Pokemon Battle Friendly!

The purpose of this new pokemon event is NOT to find who is the best battler but to encourage competitive battling as a whole.

This is your chance to fine tune your teams and gain experience in any tier you're interested in without repercussion!

Those who participate in at least FOUR battles will receive an award!

DPtocYG.png

Rules!

1) You must participate in at least FOUR battles in order to receive the award (win or lose)! You will have a WEEK after sign-ups close to complete them!

2) YOU are responsible for posting your replays in a single post! (I suggest your save the links somewhere and post them when you have four!)

3) Only battles against people that have signed up will count!

4) You are allowed to battle the same person four times. In the spirit of the friendly though, I suggest you battle multiple people.

5) All matches must be fought using the Pokemon Showdown Battle Simulator!

Recommendations

There are obviously some extremely experienced battlers on Neocodex. As much as some of you may want to avoid them, battle against them! You may learn a thing or two about weaknesses in your team!

Although I cannot speak for everyone planning to participate, please feel free to post (or PM me) your teams! I will do my best to point out weaknesses and strengths! I'm willing to help you improve (and hopefully others are too)! The best way to improve is to gain first hand experience however.

Resources!

Participants!

(Please post or PM me to participate!)

Sign ups close on Monday, July 14th at 11:59 NST!

1) Ivysaur

2) Aisaka

4) @Satsuki

Me too! I think I will go mono steel or mono grass this time.

Also, a great resource is bulbapedia.

I prefer it much more than serebii

You're right that bulbapedia doesn't have a strategy dex like smogon.

However, personally, I feel that it is just better and more conveniently formatted than serebii.

For example, this is a comparison of bulbapedia and serebii on sheer force:
http://bulbapedia.bu...iki/Sheer_Force
http://serebii.net/a...heerforce.shtml

Bulbapedia has the additional drop down menu to look at which moves affected by sheer force can be learned by which pokemon.

Serebii just lists the moves that are affected by sheer force.

Also, the explanations are usually more indepth, such as mentioning sheer force in relation to color change.

Helped me make a sheer force Rampardos, which isn't in smogon's strategy dex.

Also, it is useful for crazy builds, like a belly drum darmanitan (which doesn't work well at all from personal experience)

But it's honestly all just preference. They're both really good.

Damn I really want to join, but I have horrible work schedules and doubt I'd have the time to invest into this.
