I just learned to crochet a month ago and now I love to crochet amigurumi. I have made a couple penguins, a frog and a dratini. I'm terrible at sewing the pieces together straight so they are all just a little bit derpy.

Once you learn how to make a granny square, and how to sew them together, the possibilities are endless.

Since we're all yarn lovers here, how much do y'all spend on yarn? As much as I love yarn, I scoff at anything when it's not on sale or at 2/$5 or less. I typically use acrylic cheap ass yarn, because it comes in so many colors. I have bins and bins full. I haven't ever used wool or any of the thick yarns, because I live in south Texas and there's only a need for anything that warm for 2 days out of the year.

My husband bought my yarn but he said he barely spent much and that he was surprised at how cheap yarn is. I want some bulky yarns for blankets and shit, I'm Canadian though so it makes sense, our winters are cooooold.

Links to decent patterns for cute amigurumi would be appreciated. The patterns I find typically are bulky and suck ass.

It's not fair for Canadians to have cheap yarn. I thought everything costs $1 more for y'all.

I spend more than i probably should on yarn.... there is a really nice yarn store that is easer to get to than any michaels or other craft store so i go there when i need yarn.  I think the most expensive yarn I've bought was $20 and it's enough to make a pair of socks so im happy with it. In contrast with what some of my friends spend on yarn though, I'm the cheap one!

I wish I was better at this sort of thing. I've tried crocheting but I just cannot seem to get the hang of making anything besides a single chain. xD
