That is better to have no expectations when we are talking about people.

TIL: Hudson's Bay in Canada is 'missing gravity.'

Edit: Should we add TIL? Or should we just post stuff...?

You don't have to, the thread is about TIL so I guess it's already implied :]

Med school doesn't start for a while. How did you learn this? Aren't you on vacation?

It actually starts in four days xD But I learn stuff like this randomly. Everything I know about health was basically taught to me by other people or for the sake of my own interest. I am not prepared for this faculty o.o

I put my hand over my heart and dropped my hamburger.

Today I learned that the Scopes Monkey trial was the first trial to be broadcast live over radio in 1925. I also learned that in 1920, the Harding/Cox presidential election was the first to have the results broadcast live over radio as they came in.

Giant cookie? Isn't that just a giant cookie? Sounds amazing, but why does it need a special name?

I guess I ate my giant cookie with my equally proportionate giant spoon, atop my giant plate, on a giant table.

I'm not sure a cookie was described as anything else other than being a giant cookie in this thread.

Today I learned about Reiki and Qi Gong :D

I learned about Reiki a few months back. Turbulence on planes freaks me out and the lady next to me asked if I wanted some reiki energy. For some reason I thought it was a weird energy drink so I said sure... then she started doing it. It worked a little but, but honestly I think it was just because I had a distraction lol

I've known of Reiki for a long while, my friends mom practices it. But I didn't really know about it. We have reiki shares at work the last thursday of every month. My coworker, Jeff, leads it and since my ankle is sprained, one of his clients (who is a reiki master apparently?) recommended I join them so they could work on me.

My foot had been in so much pain yesterday and today that I said what the heck? Might as well.

It was a really cool experience, I was laying on the massage table, Jeff and this guy George were working on me. I had my eyes closed, George was down by my feet, but then all of the sudden I felt the two of them on my arms (hovering, not actually touching) but I could still feel energy at my feet, like someone was physically touching my feet/legs.

I could also feel their energy wherever their hands were hovering over, it was so crazy. It almost felt like a ripple effect in the energy I guess. idk its hard to explain. But after I got off the table, that was the first time since my injury, that when my foot went from being elevated to going down to stand on, that it didn't immediately start throbbing. It's so so so crazy to me how much less it hurts to walk on and stuff.

Today I learned how to tell if an egg is still good or spoiled : by simply placing an egg in a bowl and observe if it sinks or floats   the good one SINKS !

And the science in them was : "Since egg shells are porous, overtime the liquid in the egg evaporates and is replaced by outside air. This results in more buoyant eggs."
