The Second One-Shot Story Contest

 

 

The Challenge

The challenge is to write a One-shot based on a given sentence and theme.

 

What the hell is a One-Shot?

A one-shot story is basically a short story. It contains no chapters (or just 1, if you will) and is a complete story, without cliffhangers, from beginning to end. No prequels, no sequels.

 

Theme: Bright Lights

The light at the end of the tunnel? Genius idea? Insert something else here? Go for it.

 

The Sentence

Every participant will start their One-shot with the following sentence:

 

Damion woke up in a pitch-black room...

 

The Prizes

2 million NPs from @Rocket

 

The Rules

For the sake of format, I've copy-pasted a couple of rules.

• The One-shot must consist of at least 500 and at most 3000 words. No margin. Mainly because I can't do math for that.
   
  

   

• Keep it appropriate. You don't have to write a children's story, but we don't need porn. I think.
   
  

   

• All entries will be sent to me via PM.
   
  

   

• Don't sneakily include your or anyone's username in the story. We don't want biased voting
   
  

   

• Uhh have fun?
• Don't vote for yourself.

Oh, as a tip, I would include "do not vote for yourself" I forgot that with the previous one and someone did  vote for themselves. Let it slide because it was my fault that I forgot, but I think it's fairer if people don't vote for themselves

I think this should be common sense with ALL contests and competitions.
