(CNN) -- A proud father's boast accompanies an image the U.S. secretary of state on Tuesday called "one of the most disturbing, stomach-turning, grotesque photographs ever."

"That's my boy," Khaled Sharrouf wrote on Twitter alongside a photo of his 7-year-old son using both hands to hold up a man's severed head.

The photo, since removed from Twitter, was reportedly taken in Raqqa, a Syrian city in the stranglehold of Islamic militants, where the Australian father has taken his young family to join the fight.

What kind of father takes his children to a war-stricken nation out of the comforts of a peaceful suburbia, takes a picture of them holding a severed human head, and posts it on Twitter?

Discuss.

I saw this the other day. Disgusting. I think also read something about how he's wanted now, but I could be wrong.

There was a similar but contrasting news story today too:

Basically the father was getting worried about his sons getting obsessed with war games and guns so he took them to Israel and a Syrian refugee camp to see what war is actually like. Apparently they didn't like it.

I can't imagine why anyone would put a child through something like that :/ That's just horrible.

If I ever get to 7,777 posts, I would probably waste it on something as trivial as that :p

first you say best, now you say trivial, make up your mind!
