No I'm not Rick Rolling you.

Basically, I've been really busy lately with school. This is the first time in probably 3 years that I've been extremely busy and haven't been able to do all the things I enjoy doing on a regular basis (video games, napping, binge eating, crying etc.)

When left to my own devices, I basically do whatever I want. But the moment I get busy, I have to shift my priorities around. I know for a fact (whilst unconsciously) the things I give up in order are

1) Video games/computer

2) Sleep

3) Working out

4) Socializing

5) Meals

6) Relationship (usually not pertinent)

7) Work/School

and I haven't really gotten to the point where I've had to give up more than what I've listed. At this point, I've had to give up the first two point already and it sucks. I know I'm going to to have to drop 3 and 4 relatively soon, but I hope I don't get to the point where I stop eating meals D:

Yeah, so what do you normally give up first when your life gets hectic? This is so not interesting but life without computer is sad. Where am I going to get nudes now?

I'll prioritise the Boy, sleep and running above all else. I'm pretty good at managing priorities though so it's very rare I have to cut anything entirely. Socialising and general leisure is usually what suffers if something has to go...

I'm the same way. The only things I really give up are the three S's: sleep, socializing, sanity.

I'm not usually massively busy anyway since I can pretty much organise everything around each other and they're largely flexible but when I get reaaally busy socialising tends to be the first to go (not as much of an issue these days anyway) followed by other non-essentials like entertainment, naps, exercise/sports and eating properly. Work (meh) and relationships (HA!) would be the last things I'd give up spending time on since they're usually the most important.

One bizarre and completely unhelpful aspect about me is that I don't priorities my life. I actually don't give anything up. It's more than just being adamant, it's like hard-wired into me. When the going get's tough and I have to do something, I don't actually shift anything around, I don't give up anything. No matter how important it is, it gets done when it gets done. It's probably one of the most prominent aspects I don't like about myself, and a huge flaw I carry.

Socializing is something I wouldn't have even thought of if some of you didn't mention it. But it's the first thing I give up when it gets hectic. At least if I have to go out of my way to arrange dates or tag along with people I'm not that fond of. My boyfriend and very good friends are still important. Then after that, household chores, cooking, working out, hobbies (sort of in order: drawing, coding for fun, working on my model kits, video games).

Life usually gets hectic for me because of school/uni/work, so that is a priority. I also need to sleep no matter what because otherwise I'm not productive. Sleep or other resting type activities like reading etc. are all the more important when I'm busy.

As I'm still studying and struggling to make a living, sometime these events came into my life in a specific time or course. Well, most of the time it is either on the brink of an exam week or simply when a big assignment or project have to be handed out on time. During such time yeah I've got to admit I do prioritize some thing while totally ignore others. One of them which is pretty much obvious is the net, totally cut off and only use my laptop to view slides or e-books, another is my phone, rarely to even look at the calls or text that came in only to use as the alarm, next is probably my family :D I don't know why but when I'm near them especially with five little kids under the roof, studying is hell. Another is my girl, although sometimes I do regret doing it and afraid that it turned out bad, I still do it :) you just have to slow talk her into what I am going through and hope the best out of her. Lastly is yup, I've got agree on socializing. At such time, I usually stay in one place the whole week to study such as my bedroom without ever going out. The last thing I wanna do is to have a completely useless conversation for hours long where I should have studied and memorize tons of stuff.

Socializing and sleep, pretty much just these two. I don't have too much problem when it comes to being busy, thankfully!

Games, anime, sleep, socializing, and eating in that order I guess.

Right now I have a major dilemma though. I'm working part time, am an assistant director for a student org, and taking 16 credits. There's a class that I REALLY want to take that is only being offered this semester. If I take it, I'll be taking 19 credits (the max allowed) and will probably have to shift around my work schedule and work 7 am opening shifts... this class is literally perfect for me but I just don't know if it's worth it x_x

Do it, it's one time only, you think you'll love it and any of the bad that comes with it is for a definitive finite amount of time not forever.

I just don't want to bite off more than I can chew and end up doing badly because of it :/

^ I don't usually like to agree with Ali but this. If it's something you'll really enjoy and this is literally the only chance you'll have to do it then you should grasp it while you can or you'll probably just end up regretting it later on. :/

Well I'm not 100% sure that it will be my only chance. I talked to the department chair and he said that whether the class will be repeated depends on the interest in the class. These types of seminars usually get recycled every 2-3 years so I COULD have a chance, but it's also pretty likely that I'll be out of school by the time it's repeated.

I was thinking of asking the professor if I can sit in on the class whenever I have time in my schedule instead of officially enrolling in it. ._.

If you did enrol in it would you be able to drop it later on if it started causing problems with your other grades? If so you could always try it for a bit and see how it goes.

The add/drop period at my school is only about two weeks, but I think you can still withdraw until the week after midterms. I think I'm going to email my advisor about it and see what she thinks also.

Yeah, it won't hurt to ask and see what your options are. I know for me I always end up regretting the things I've wanted to do and haven't more than the things I have.

You're right :/ Nobody ever looks back on all the times they got a good night's sleep, even though no sleep totally sucks when it's actually happening.

I'm kinda an introvert so I guess the first to go is socializing. I think next is sleeping. I feel I've given up sleep for less so yeah.
I get crazy without food so I don't usually skip it. I'm not saying I'm eating everything, but there's just some amount I need or I get super bitchy.

When I'm stressed, I lose my appetite too.

I also stop being a neat freak when I'm busy lol. This summer when I would work 10-13 hr days, my room looked horrible.

School

TV/Movies

Crafts

Computer/Games

Running

Reading

I don't really have a social life outside of work events and the internet, so that's a non-issue.  Right now I'm trying to get crafts and TV/Movies back into my regime.  School is out of the question right now.  I still am managing computer/gaming, running and reading at the moment (though running is falling by the wayside right now as we're down to one vehicle).
