And me and @Nymh are doing lots of things. These things are going well. We most certainly didn't let our plans fall through because of inescapable belittling and megalomania. Certainly not!

Sure:

 

Less people signed up than I would have thought.  I communicate with those that did via PM.  Most of them forgot, have been too busy, or have since been convinced that Codex isn't worth saving.  A couple people do what they signed up to do.

I wouldn't mind being a Project Manager or Team Leader for whatever aspect you think I might be best suited, @Nymh, but again: this is going to require dedicated effort...and if attrition absorbs folks, then there's not much that can be done about THAT really, you know?

 

There will always be people dedicated to the task to which they are assigned, and those who will not be. But again, people join Neocodex for a broad spectrum of reasons and desires, and not everyone is going to put in X amount of time for the sake of the site. However: there are definitely those within a subpopulation who WILL, thus never give up, and never concede defeat so quickly. You just need to find the right people to help out.

 

My own 2 cents of wisdom (and hey that's admittedly now an inflated 2 cents, being that I'm pretty old and all) tell me that no, Neocodex is in no way facing demise...rather, basing itself predominantly upon Neopets as the basis of existence is the WORST thing it can do, however. I feel that diversification of interests needs to be stressed far more strongly than it has been of late (I mean GAAAH, even the Ad Contest participation was highly skewed towards merely Neopets-focused entries, which I found to be lame as all hell since Neopets itself may be on the brink of extinction), and that doing so is the BEST approach to keeping Neocodex kicking on into perpetuity.
