I'm looking to buy a gaming headset. Preferably something that will work with my PS4 and my mac. Maybe if it had a headphone jack as well as an USB at the end.

I'm looking for something around $100 but have yet to find something. Turtle beach offers a few, but I'm wondering if you guys had any personal opinions or recommendations.

Also, general gaming headset thread.

I've owned a total of two Turtle Beach headsets in my life, and they've never failed me.
Well, except when the first one was accidentally sat on. :/

My boyfriend has a cheapo Turtle Beach headset that he likes, but he's very much considering the Playstation Gold headset. Not sure exact pricing and details, but it's definitely something worth checking out.

Yeah, I've looked into the turtle beach P12 headset, and it looks nice. The price is good too. But if I could find something better for the same price then I would probably get it.

I've been tempted by the Playstation headset. Wireless is always nice, but I want to use it on the computer too.

I will research more later to see if these are compatible, but there are 3 top notch ones I have owned. I used to travel around the US and play competitively, so I have owned my fair share.

I really like the Sennheiser PC350 or PC360s, the Steelseries Siberia V2, and the Astro A40s.

New the Sennheisers run $130-$150, the Steelseries are $60-$90 and come in several colors, and the Astro's are on the high end at around $250.

I've been told constantly to buy the Playstation Gold, only because it's totally bluetooth, so if you have a dongle for your computer, you'd be able to connect it with ease.

The sennheiser PC350's look nice! I don't like the colors on the steel series too much. I've read a lot of good things about the Astro's but that price range...especially since I'm not a professional gamer

Right. Wireless is really nice but I need it wired for the computer. Maybe I'll buy separate sets.

The 350's are a little more $$$ than you were hoping but they are worth looking into. I owed a friend $75 one time and I just told him to take my headset instead, and I've regretted it ever since. The Astros are definitely nice, but I really would recommend using the 350s and just purchasing the Astro Mixamp separately if you ever decided you wanted to invest that much cash. Sennheisers + Astro Mixamp are way better than the A40's and the Mixamp IMO.
