Hi! I recently started trying out the NQ2 Autoplayer to try and get my way through InSaNe, or at least make it tolerable, and was wondering if anyone knew how to make the Advanced Script function actually work?

I wrote up a little thing that should've moved Rohane around a little, fought the battles, and then taken him back to interact with his mother and heal. Mostly just wanting to get through the first levels, since it's a while before you can sustain yourself via potion drops, and manually training through the same early levels for the 5th time isn't really all that appealing.

Thanks!

Yeah, I've been using that one. Worked fine, since I'd already manually levelled to about 5 or 6, but then I died on Zombom and had to start again. The Training mode provided in the Auto Battler doesn't seem to have a way to keep you alive for the first few levels if you leave it on too long since you have no healing abilities, and no healing items.

So, I wanted to make an Advanced Script (Which from what I understand from the original Auto Battler thread, will allow me to run multiple movement scripts and interact with NPCs) to do a small number of fights and then go heal, so that I'd have to be very unlucky to die and could actually survive past the first few levels so I can get further into the game. Unfortunately, nothing I've tried has gotten the Advanced Script function to actually do anything at all and I can't seem to find any example of an actually working Advanced Script.

I just leveled till I was level 5 and started up the scripts and checked in between firing up new, big scripts.

I don't think there is a way to have them interact as you want :/

Bleck. The AB topic says the Advanced Script function should be able to do that, in fact it says it could theoretically play the entire game, but I guess it's not working.

Oh well, I guess I'll just try not to die this time. Been a long while since I did Evil, but I seem to remember Zombom being the most irritating fight in the game.

I'm giving this a try right now, been running for a little bit now and no issues. I'll message you later on today @Liesa about the IM. I pinky promise.

@ZNeoquest

@Neoquest would be better able to answer your questions about the advanced scripting. At the end of the day, you need to overtrain for every boss level on insane.

If you weren't maxed out on your level prior to fighting zombom, or close to 14/15, then I would suggest you run the autotrainer a little more. It is a hell of a lot easier than having to start over on insane.

Also, for Boss fights, you'll probably be better off if you do the first couple manually. At least until you get Velm. Velm is pretty key in making sure your team doesn't die.

Hopefully he's still around then, since I've no idea where I'm going wrong with the Advanced Scripting (If it even actually works) nothing the post says it's supposed to do works, but I might just be missing some key step somewhere...

I've been doing the bosses manually, but I still can't get past Zombom. Tried him at 12, like guides suggest, got slaughtered. Tried to level past 12, got slaughtered. Not quite sure where to go from there...

Guess I'll wait and see if I can get this advanced script stuff working, since I'm failing to even survive to level 2 anymore.

12 is WAY to low for insane. The guide was written for normal.

Seriously, hang out at the beginning of the cave and level to 12. Also, before you head there you could stop in the city and make sure that you have MAXED potions, pretty much consistently. Then right before zombom, fight the harder monsters. I always played it where if you can get experience from a weaker monster, then let the game play for you.

Don't fight a boss on insane unless you are absolutely sure you can beat it. Being a few levels higher makes a huge difference in terms of attacking and actually hitting that it will have.

I was using different guides, three of them in fact, they all said that 12 was fine for Zombom on Insane :\

I don't suppose there's a way to make the auto battler stop battling if you run out of potions? Twice now I've gotten killed while levelling up for Zombom X_x

If you're not actually having to do the training then why move ahead so quickly? Of course you want to finish fast, but seriously, just train at the beginning of the cave or close to the city. Use your potions from strongest to weakest. If you run out of potions quickly, instead of using hunting mode use normal mode. That way you get 5 steps or so inbetween battles in which rohane can heal himself a few points. It adds up.

Level Beat At: 11 on Normal, 12 on Insane (11 on Normal, 14 on Insane); Recommended Level: 12

It's not impossible to beat on 12 at insane, but 14 is the much safer bet.

Mostly because I know Zombom is the first major hurdle of the game, and arguably the single most annoying part, so I want to get it over and done with so I can relax more. Plus I kind've assumed the guides I was using were telling me the recommended level to do content, not the "This is the bare minimum you can get lucky and win with" level.

I didn't think of leveling outside of hunting mode though, completely forgot about the natural HP regen. Guess I'll try that next, since maintaining HP is the biggest issue I'm having with levelling further in.

Also; Are the Blast Potions from before the store useful in the Zombom fight? Not sure if I should stock up before going to face him.

A lot of people find that it helps to use the damage potions against zombom. What I personally did, was prior to fighting him I hunted the monsters around him using the weakest potion first, that way I could gather and save some of the 35 HP potions when fighting him because of his decimate ability.

Trust me though, if you over level you shouldn't have any more issues.

Well, I've almost crept my way back up to level 11 so I'll be able to see how well auto-training does a bit further in soon. I'll have to investigate my potion situation when I'm level 14, I'll probably buy some of the damage potions just in case. Not like I'm struggling with my gold.

Well I'm almost clear of the Lost Desert, so I probably won't need to write an Advanced Script anymore... but it seems that fighting a single Enormous Grundocerous forcequits/crashes the program after the battle ends, which is a bit frustrating.

Hm, I never had that issue while I went through the lost desert. Are you browsing neo while you are running the trainer? That could be the actual root cause of the issue.

Nope, I make sure not to be using Neo while I have the trainer running. Seems like it's fairly safe, but I didn't want to take unneeded risks.

Ran into the same issue at the end of Chapter 5 as well, where it would quit the auto battler after every battle. Thankfully it was right near the end, so I didn't have to actually do much myself.

Either way, not an issue for me anymore since I finally finished off InSaNe. Pretty sure I got the worst prize, but oh well I have a shiny new trophy at least.

@420weedgod420, they don't complete it entirely for you. You have to run the trainer to get levels up, and when a script finishes you have to start a new script.
