I read that people's pet would get sent to the pound (and then lost) when they tried to transfer.
Now I'm afraid that my pets would just get lost for no reason.
Or maybe come back unconverted. What can't happen at neopets anyway?

Thank you, it's 3am here and I'm dabbed out of my mind.
That's what's up. Made me think of an awesome idea for a twist on a classic song. "Moon is shining, the weather is sweet, yeah"

I've already experienced losing a pet first hand. I thought the pound was fixed since the main adoption pages appeared to be working then when I tried pound transferring a draik it never appeared and now isn't adoptable by anybody. It's pet page says it's in the pound but it doesn't actually show up in the pound.
Be cautious with pets that you value. It's absolutely ridiculous that the company hasn't at very least put a text warning on the transfer/abandon pages!
