It seems that there's almost always a new media tidbit out about Minecraft lately...so rather than post the one I just ran across in a thread of its own, I figured that perhaps we can start posting any of our interesting finds here for convenience. :)

Here's the little nugget I just found:  http://venturebeat.c...-gamer-edition/

Thought I'm personally not into Xbox versions of Minecraft, perhaps someone is...

(On a side note, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that Microsoft meddling in the awesome goodness that is Minecraft is limited to the Xbox side of things...I couldn't care less what takes place there!) :p

I think Strategist mentioned having gotten the Xbox version recently, and that's also what DawnKnight (or whatever he's switched his name to...I forget LOL!) originally played on; you all could give interesting perspectives all playing on both. :D

I have the xbox version and I hate it with a passion. It's too limited.

Thank you Swarley.  I was almost tempted.  If only to hear anything besides Shoot Dimitri Shoot! from the damn thing.

You're welcome for saving you from this waste of money. No offence to the lovers, though.

Could have told me prior to me buying the damn thing lol (It's ok, really, I only bought it so my son could play it, I knew it was fairly limited xD)

YESSS @Swarley, this should be interesting (though I've never even tackled the Ender Dragon yet in its currently-existing form). :)

I am looking forward to see how they play it out, @Honchkrow. :D

Aye. I have all versions except Xbone & PS4 now.

Started on 360 (only next gen system I had at the time and think it was first to get the console version), enjoyed it so much that when I bought PS3 & it became my main console purchased it again.

Bought the pocket edition while standing in line for a Nightwish/Kamelot concert. Worth every cent, and standing in lines doesn't suck nearly as badly now.

Then the PC version when I became active on Codex again.

Personally I could never go back to the console versions other than for any new achievements/trophies or to personally experience the boss battles on my own.

It's just as @Swarley states: too limited.

I'd always hit the invisible wall(s) relatively quickly after starting a game. Way too confining.

Also missing a ton of recipes n stuff. At this point it'd be like trying to make a time machine out of caveman tools.  :lol2:

Though I do miss the console's crafting system a smidge. Faster, and keeps me immersed in game.

Would probably go back if the Codex community ever migrated though for whatever reason.

I sat here for a few minutes thinking about this one.  Yeah, it would be unique and kinda cool.  But I can sorta understand why Minecraft decided against it.  It wouldn't really promote Minecraft.  Maybe a week or two of small segments of Conan actually building the set in MC before would help?

I know when I first saw the screenshots here of everyone building stuff on the server I wasn't tempted at all to play.  If @Kord hadn't had problems finding diamonds and posted about what all she was learning/doing I don't think I ever would have.   Hearing and seeing all the other cool stuff that had to be done to build got me interested.

Although, I totally admit I'd watch if the show was done in survival mode.  Creepers would bring a whole new comedy level.

Name changes are live but I guess my account is too new.

And yes, they did have the typo for later lol.

Actually, upon signing in today, I notice it's at 1.8.3 (perhaps was last night, too?), and for some reason, it seems to be playing more smoothly than ever. I have no complaints! :p

Update: due to a serious bug in the Minecraft 1.8.2 server, we released an update to Minecraft 1.8.3

Yeah but the "serious bug" issue never affected me (I believe it was causing some people...according to bug reports I read elsewhere...to not even be able to load the game at all); I've just noticed a definite smoothness/snappiness in playing today that was absent for me in 1.8 and 1.8.1.

No serious bug for me either... Probably because I'm still in 1.8 :p
