Hey @Adam, didn't get a notification. In regards to your question, no I don't have reference cards or anything, but this is what I use:

You'll see it when you look in the viewfinder when you're taking a picture. It's affected by your shutter speed and fstop, and it'll show you when it thinks your settings are optimal. Obviously, it's just a guideline, but it helps. Are you taking pictures in manual mode or auto still? 

Really the most important thing is when you're shooting, change the settings (fstop, shutter, iso) and take the picture, and look at the result. 

Then, if you want some aspect of it changed, you can mess around with the settings and take it again. I recommend doing everything manually, including focusing, because it forces you to understand what is changing the picture.

This is not my pic.
This is Madeira Island. I can't imagine what these people are feeling, trapped between fire and sea water, nowhere to escape. :(
