That day we saw horror, but we also saw quiet acts of courage. We saw this courage in a teacher named Liviu Librescu. With the gunman set to enter his class, this brave professor blocked the door with his body while his students fled to safety. On the Day of Remembrance, this Holocaust survivor gave his own life so that others may live. And this morning we honor his memory and we take strength from his example.

Upon hearing a commotion from his office on the third floor of Norris Hall, the professor brought 20 students from a nearby classroom into his office, where the door could be locked. He and another professor, Wally Grant, then went downstairs to investigate the situation. They were both shot by Seung-Hui Cho; Grant was wounded and survived, but Granata died from his injuries. He was 45 years old. None of the students locked in Granata's office were injured.

 

They weren't just engineers. They were incredibly distinguished engineers who sacrificed themselves for the safety of others. There is no telling how many more would have died on April 16th if they hadn't protected their students. One with a career filled with success and the other on a trajectory to become one of the world leaders in cerebral palsy research and robotic aided mobility.

Soon. As soon as Heimdall lets me back into Asgard. I insulted Odin a few too many times and he got mad and threw me out. Loki's taking care of Odin though, so it shouldn't be long. We'll be sure to invite you. Just make sure your dress isn't red, or a combination of red and sliver. You will be thrown in prison if it is.

There's a girl in China whose father had a stroke. She was like 9 when I saw the news but she takes care of him as well as herself. Also, another girl in China whose mother has brittle bones and can't work. Her father has one leg and makes a living collecting firewood. She's also really young but she helps her father collect firewood so he won't be as tired.

 

2. Has anyone ever told you that you are their hero?

Nah. 

 

4. Have you ever saved someone?

Never emotionally as far as I know. But physically I once pulled someone who froze in the middle of a road.

 

5. What do you think the world needs saving from?

Ignorance and by extension hatred.

 

6. Who is your favourite super hero?

I liked Spiderman for his sense of humor. After that I quite liked Deadpool, it'll probably fade when he starts getting more attention and gets a makeover like Batman.

 

7. What is your kryptonite in real life?

Household pests. *Shudder*

 

8. What super hero do you feel doesn't receive enough attention?

I only know the mainstream ones so... :<    

 

9. Who is your sidekick?

Aquaman duh. I would also accept Perry the Platypus

I can't say I have any one person I admire or consider "heroic".

Maybe my parents for being immigrants from another country, working hard and eventually buying property. (And raising me ofc )

Yes? Maybe? Perhaps in passing after I did them a ginormous favor or something. If I did save someone's life, I'd rather not know. That much praise weirds me out.

Prob go the Ironman route since I don't have superpowers.
