Oh lord I played on Windia and Broa for ages. All my high levels got banned with whatever that w8baby VIP program is/was ( BT trainer?).

I haven't played since the days of Vac hacks and extremely hard level progression. I tried it recently and you can get to first job in a day. Seriously devalued what I (and many others) had put into the game in an earlier time.

I used to. Used a cheat program for a bit, didn't get banned. Stopped because I got bored and my windows broke and the game isn't playable on mac. Bootcamp and VM's make my mac heat up too much, and they're a pain.

I always get waves of wanting to play but like @Satsuki playing on a Mac is just not capable for me lol. I miss the good old maplestory days where leveling was hard it's not fun anymore honestly.. I mean it is in a sense just not like it used to be. The hacking days were brilliant though.

Hacking made the game boring for me. The only thing that hacking did for me that was fun was duping during Maple Anniversaries until I got a trash account banned and it just wasn't worth it.

I stopped at Lv. 199 and haven't touched it. Lost my Maple interest. It'll come back eventually. lol

I was one of the legit players and actually lost interest when the game became heavily Pay 2 Win. I could handle the pets, cosmetic items and EXP/Item Drop/Meso drop boosters and in fact had no problem with them, but the second equipment upgrades via the cash shop came into the picture everything went downhill from there.

I agree the game really lost its mojo when they started to add all the equipment upgrades and all of the scrolls. I remember I came back after a long break and saw all of that and was so confused I just gave up... Still haven't figured all the %str and all of that nonsense out. I would love to play again but I would have to get a PC and I don't know if I can let myself do that.

Played MapleSEA when I was younger (think 5-7 years ago). Spent a shit ton of my allowance.

I haven't played Maplestory since 2007 and the only reason why I found it fun was because I had a friend that knew what to do.

 

I'll probably give MapleStory 2 a try next month when it comes back

Been casually playing to get event rewards for a friend, haha. The game is now super boss farm focused at high levels and its all about reaching 2m-2m range. The leveling has become mindlessly easy because you literally level in 6/7 maps till 200:

Golems/Curse Eye- 30

Gold beach flying fish - 50-55

Drakes - 70

Romeo and Juliet PQ - 140

Evolution Lab - 160

Stronghold - 200

 

The kicker is that it just takes 8 hours to 140 with the free 2x exp coupon.
