Get the Altador Cup back to the DRR format. Not because brackets are broken and cliche stuff like that but I simply preferred the DRR format more.

I know it's probably a lot harder to manage neopets than I'd like to believe. It's easy for me to criticize when I don't have to manage a team of artists, writers, and programmers.

 

Honestly, in general, I'd just try to make sure they stop breaking/taking away existing content (habitarium, keyquest, old battledome) and rolling out half-finished new content (how long has the battledome been in beta? even though it was one of the biggest draws on the site? years??)

As someone with UC pets, I, too, would create a UC "paintbrush" and let it loose on the masses.

Because I get spammed by neomails from people begging to adopt or trade for the dream pets that I created and painted myself, and it's very annoying. If they're common again and everyone can get them, maybe the spam will stop.

 

And I would remarket the site for an older audience, because they have more pocket money. Relax some of the more absurd censorship on the neoboards - it's gone to the point where you can't even talk about the old items like wine and beer because you're instantly silenced. There are active neopets communities consisting of older people who refuse to use the actual site to chat because it's so ridiculously restrictive, so they're on Reddit or on forums like these instead. The audience is already there, just cater to them.

I agree with this - I haven't encountered a single user under the age of eighteen since I came back to the site over a year ago.

 

I'd do the obvious and attempt to fix the economy, though I have no idea how. I guess that'd entail hiring someone who would.

 

UC paint brush, as other people have mentioned. Just some way of clearing up the UC issue and decreasing their value a little.

 

I'd also bring back in an overarching plot and site events that aren't just relentless flash game spamming or battling.

 

And I'd remove half of the dailies. Most don't hand out anything of use, they churn out more junk items than anything else. I'd keep one or two around but otherwise, they aren't needed.

I would hire more people, that way you can hopefully cut back on the automatic banning what they have on the site.

I would first get all the server space I would need to run the site without lag.

I would come up with a notification system for guilds, so that you can get notified when someone posts in your guild. That way, you can do whatever you want to do and not have to worry about leaving a member hanging who came in to chat while you were playing a long game!

I would also get rid of the filters for the most part. I would only filter out a few words and make sure that words within words were not filtered.

I would bring KQ back and Habi, for sure!

I would also create more plots.

I would launch a name change fortune cookie for when people adopt pets from the pound, that can change the name of that pet!

I would purge any account that was more than 5 years inactive. Any account that is frozen, I would release all pets into the pound so they can find new happy homes!

Oh, and for all the retired avatars, there would be 3 times a year people can try to get these avatars, if for instance they weren't around to get them when they came out. So, plots would be re-released for the opportunity!

Make a deal with a company and sell trading cards, magazines, plushies, and other items again regularly. I still have my yellow kyogre plushie and a butt load of "official" neopets magazines in my room from when I was younger.

Anyone who sends in a request to unfreeze an account, I would unfreeze instead of purge!

Honestly, owning neopets would be a nightmare. Having the equipment to maintain not only the servers but also desperate maintenance upgrades to the site...it would be terrible. I would originally want to have a more interactive site but after a few weeks, I would probably abandon that plan and see what I can do to get the most money out of the site: start contest for users to submit their ideas for new items, NC items, etc, so I don't have to have the artist staff that would create new items; start a ree month trial for premium to increase membership and have a cool battledome gift for those who've had over 3 months of premium membership. Introduce a new plot that also has a NC mall part that way I can get more revenue from there.
