Oh thanks for pointing users to this one @Kord! Optifine really makes a hell of a difference to performance, especially on lower-end computers.
No problem, and yeah it can make a huge difference!

Just as a warning, Optifine can cause z-depth conflicts. This is visible in things like the Tesseract, or MineFactory Reloaded machines, where thing have different skins depending on their active state. Most annoying for me was JABBA barrel displays freaking out.
So I disabled it again

Precisely the reason I ended up removing Optifine too. While the minimal fps boost was good and all, my eyes could not handle the constant flickering of those pixels lol
