This thread is to talk about Canadian things. There are too many damn American threads here. It's time for their slow notherly brothers to take the stage. Tell me about what you love about Canada. Tell me about why we're better than the US of A.

The big game changing topics are:

Do you like Canadian bacon more than maple syrup?

What is your favourite (I spell that with a u because I'M IN CANADA) part about being Canadian?

Have you ever seen an igloo?

Where aboots in Canada do you live?

Do you like Justin Trudeau's hair?

When was the last time you ate poutine?

Do you speak French?

If yes, will you speak dirty to me in it?

Discuss (do people here still say that? Discuss why or why not)

Yes. It must have been nice to walk in a land where every wallet contains a free medicare card and moose roam free. I always wondered why we don't get many Americans up here. It seems pretty easy to get dual citizenship.

Please take Justin Bieber back. It's not too late.

Are you American? Read the tags! You need to get the hell out eh

And I thought all Americans were fat but when I went over to your barren wastelands it turns out you are all are quite an attractive bunch. It's the only up you have on us!

To answer the questions though, because the Commonwealth rocks and we have a very similar Medicare system to you guys:

Canadian Bacon.... omfg.

Canadian Bacon.

Yes, but not a real one, sadly :(

I don't but if I did, it would likely be close enough to Banff.

Sorry I don't really like his hair. Sorry.

Never eaten poutine :/

Oui, madame. Il est une belle langue.

Voulez vous coucher avec moi? ;)

I mean Vancouver was nice. And so was Victoria, BC. Never been to Quebec or french speaking region.

Never eaten poutine, because french fries are meant to be crispy and not lathered in lard any more than they already are.

But uh, I hear you're all nice people. When you're not watching hockey that is.

I thought I was skinny til I went to Canada and saw more bellybuttons than I have in the rest of my life put together.

Which is weird, cause apparently y'all have a secret gravy fetish. Poutine and mashed potatoes and everything would be 100% better with 50% less gravy.

And the bread up there doesn't want to kill me.

I'm gonna go ahead and say that the Dutch are like the Canadians of Germany so ~

Do you like Canadian bacon more than maple syrup?

Don't know about the Canadian part, but regular bacon and maple syrup are equally delicious. BUT PUT THEM TOGETHER AND YOU HAVE HEAVEN FOR YOUR MOUTH

(fun fact, in dutch we say "like an angel pissing on your tongue")

What is your favourite (I spell that with a u because I'M IN CANADA) part about being Canadian?

Wearing wooden clogs e'ryday

Have you ever seen an igloo?

Yes, in one of those ice-bars

Where aboots in Canada do you live?

European Canada

Do you like Justin Trudeau's hair?

Eh, it's alright

When was the last time you ate poutine?

I guess never, but I had something very similar in germany last year

Do you speak French?

A petit bit

If yes, will you speak dirty to me in it?

VOULEZ VOUS COUCHER AVEC MOI CEST SOIR?

I was wondering what this thread might be aboot.

1. Does everyone have a secret recipe for poutine, or is there a standard recipe?

2. Poutine sounds like love on a plate, but how is it different from Cheese, chips, gravy and bacon? Also, seems like it might be too savory, correct me if I'm wrong?

3. Why do Canadian stereotypes make them out to be the nicest people in the world but also the most violent at the same time? How do you feel about these stereotypes?

You just mean bacon right? Let's keep in mind Americans call HAM "canadian bacon". But yeah, I love bacon more than maple syrup but my maple syrup love is stronk.

What is your favourite (I spell that with a u because I'M IN CANADA) part about being Canadian?

UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE! and gun control.

Have you ever seen an igloo?

Um.. duh?

Where aboots in Canada do you live?

In the Maritimes honey and don't you forget it.

Do you like Justin Trudeau's hair?

Omg Justin Trudeau, Cara don't do this to me omg he is my spirit animal.

When was the last time you ate poutine?

Like last month but it's a pretty regular meal around here.

Do you speak French?

If yes, will you speak dirty to me in it?

O Canada! Terre de nos aïeux,

Ton front est ceint de fleurons glorieux!

Car ton bras sait porter l'épée,
Il sait porter la croix!

Ton histoire est une épopée
Des plus brillants exploits.

Et ta valeur, de foi trempée,
Protégera nos foyers et nos droits.

Protégera nos foyers et nos droits.

Poutine is cheese curds and gravy on french fries. There are a lot of variations and poutine restaurants here that offer different types... pretty much anything you can think of on fries. Nacho poutine. Philly Cheesesteak poutine. etc.

I eat a vegan version and I get a shot of maple syrup with it.

I don't know any Canadian Stereotypes that make us out to be the most violent....

I find the parallels drawn between our raunchy texts and violence to be sexually suppressive also maybe we just enjoy a good bowel movement after some eggplant parmesan.

Now aside from that, I can't say much for the whole poo emoji and eggplant correlation. Sounds like a German fetish I saw in a movie once....
