I guess you're right, but still - there are 30 pets for each day, 2 is a very low amount lol

May I suggest something? It's kinda rude to hold and transfer. Some people don't have an option to transfer or run out of transfer for a month. 

Most of us tend to adopt a birthday pet and get a cupcake then disown them ON THE SAME DAY. 

It is way difficult to contact someone for their birthday pets in less than 24 hours or even worse perhaps less than 8 hours? Disowning pets on the same day allow others to get a cupcake in less than 5 minutes.

It's the same for the avatar pets in the pound board in the avatar neoboards. It's most efficient if people only adopt once a day, then disown that same day. Holding a pet for 24 hours is kind of inconsiderate to the rest of the people trying to benefit from the system.

 

Then again, I shouldn't be complaining too much about free pet training but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Read back and understand why I said I could transfer only before you jump to conclusions. I've been here long enough and on Neopets long enough to know what makes people happy and mad and what is considerate and not considerate. What is not considerate of you is not reading back and understanding why I could ONLY transfer before you jumped to conclusions and this is all I'm going to say about this.

Yep exactly! I still don't know how they'd manage to circumvent this unless it were some window of not allowing pounding +/- a window of days around a pet's birthday (or such that cupcakes can't be saved/hoarded but rather only used on the birthday pet upon receipt)?
