Theme: Horror

(In honor of the upcoming holiday, Halloween, write something creepy and scary as fuck!)

 

Rules

 

1. ~500 words (450-550)

2. Submissions due 11:59 EST on Tuesday the 6th of October

3. Voting will be until Thursday 5:00pm EST the 8th of October

4. No plagiarism and no multiple entries

5. Please PM me your entry with subject "writing contest entry"

@Coops it wasn't needed lol even less because of me. I'm sure I'll write something and will be rotting in a folder on my computer for years and years and years and years until the day I open it, read it and say "what the duck is this?".

Considering a member here said my entry in the last contest was cheesy. I've decided I'll make my entry in this contest even cheesier!

I quietly turned off the television. No one in the room spoke. Looking blankly at the dark screen, I closed my eyes, hoping to escape the nightmare slowly rising up around me. I could still see his face behind my eyelids - there was no solace there. I turned around to look at my friends, praying that someone would say that I had only misheard the reporter, and there was nothing to worry about. Brian bent over and threw up in the trash can. Natalie wept. I knew I had not been mistaken. My phone vibrated, and with a growing sense of dread I took it out of my pocket. On my screen, the headline: "Ted Cruz Wins 2016 Presidential Election".
