A mate thought he'd edit a pic of 1 of our best mates.

Your version looks less unrealistic. That first edit looks too fake imo.

Yeah. He wanted to be in a fantasy kind of backdrop with a sword but i couldn't be bothered with the sword.

The guy doesn't blend in well in either of the pictures.  Right now he looks like he was merely copied and pasted.  You and your friend may want to play around with colors on the guy to see which ones work best.

Only thing I can see working from this perspective is him being at the edge of a cliff and seeing the view behind him.
