I suspect most forums shut down because they lost activity and with that the income to be able to pay the hosting and domain etc and the admins don't want to pay their own money into a failing venture. We don't have that same concern financially because at least half of any profits get saved for the future into the yacht fund and @Hydrogen manages that end well, completely different to our first few years when finances were pretty tight. Even if Neopets died we could cut down on hosting and keep the site going for yeeeaaarrrsss as we develop into some kind of dystopian nightmare.

Beautiful! That makes me pretty happy. :)

I like the podcast idea. Like we could have a forum section or subforum of sorts for neopets events where members could post things that they've seen happen/notice important stuff, and actually end up talking about some of those things within the podcast of sorts...? Like have an intro, give out some news, chat about some random shit, shout out to some threads or posts or whatever would be a good addition, and probably end it for the week ;3?

Restart a graphics forum. Is there anyway of directing people to new software (photoshop, flash etc) an developing these skills? We used to have a graphics team but it died out. A formal expansion of a graphics teams will extend our focuses and activity.

Find a way of enticing new programmers and developing new programmers on the site. The vast majority of neocodex history has depended on programmers. Finding a way of increasing programmer membership will surely be a good thing.

Bring back the e-zine team.

The rest we've already spoke about.

I'd love the idea of bringing back a graphics team of sorts. I reckon a monthly fan-art/design competition would probably interest the artistic groups of members. Especially if a week or month of Advanced was up for grabs or something that would probably be, as you said, enticing enough. I definitely can see the graphics groups have definite faded... :(

That sounds very Twilight-esque.

Exactly what came to mind:

I'd be down for a podcast. We should have a pool of alternating speakers or just simply guest members or smthng

I like the podcast idea.

Commentating on the AC, rumors and scandals of Codex, announcements...

We could also have some sort of active program suggestion. I'm sure we already have a topic for it somewhere, perhaps? Thing is, I'm totally willing to learn extra programming apart from what I already know, but since I don't know what to script for since it seems all possible programs have already been made I just don't know what to do or have the motivation to learn another language.

Yeah that :p

Perhaps also semi-Neopets style profile customization? Even if it's only private and up. I know you can set the background but some extra features would be cool :) Like the option to stretch a photo to fit the screen or something

Community created forum Theme possibly? Not sure if a change of theme would really attract more people though.

I have another suggestion that I'm sure @DonValentino will back. One single sub section for writing in the arts/graphics section. That way we could include similar threads like the "draw every week" thread, or share poetry, microfics, short stories, etc. I'm sure there are other members here who like that.

Wholeheartedly :)

Bring back the e-zine team.

I second this. I don't know how it was or how it looked like, but it would be cool to have this back.
