Came across something particularly peculiar in a game? Finally got that 100% achievement/trophy that most other people don't even try for? Post em here!

A little explanation would be nice as well ;)

I play a F2P Japanese MMORPG called PSO2 (Phantasy Star Online 2) and in this Emergency Quest you get ranked on how well you did among 12 players, whether it's hitting enemies first, killing them, etc. I managed to place 1st overall which is a pretty big deal to me since I consider myself an average player among Japanese and English players. Here's the results board that pops up when you've finished the quest and gathered all your rares. My character didn't show up in that blank space, I think I pressed screenshot button too fast.

Spoiler

Did particularly well in a Halo 5 Big Team Slayer game couple nights ago.

The first game I've ever played was a strange point and click back in 2002. Its name was DogDay and my dad had gotten it for me for my brand new win 98 pc lol. The game was soooo weird and some parts were really difficult but the overall vibe of the game and mystery just kept me playing i never got to finish it, though. A couple of years ago I tried to find it and found an unfinished version of the game and it was awesome to remember everything! The game was made by a small Australian company that does not longer exist. Funny thing is that I actually got in touch with the developer recently and thanked him for the good childhood memories :)

I got the platinum trophy in FFX-2.

If you know how bad the game is you'll understand why it's an accomplishment.

Is it really that bad? It was the first (and only) FF I played, and I really hated it. After that I never tried any other FF.

Should have tried X before X-2. At least you'd know the characters. :p

But yeah it's really cheesy and is a step down in quality from X. At least it felt less linear since there were more places open up at the start to explore and whatnot.

I don't even know where I got it, I just had it around, so I gave it a try xD I think I was like 8 or so when I tried, so the English was another obstacle lmao

I might give FF a try this year... So many people love the franchise, it can't be so bad :p

Try any of the first nine. People like 7 too much. I'd consider 4,6, or 8; although, 8 has a weird combat system that poor young me never understood.

Alright, I'll try to get them today so I don't forget. Thanks!

*HEAVY BREATHING*

Play 9. In my opinion, it's a good starting place to jump into the final fantasy series because it has the original fantasy theme and it's very simplistic compared to other battle styles (find rare equipment, grind with them for a little while to permanently learn the abilities from those equipments). But I think it would be worth it to wait until it's released on steam which is taking FOREVER. It'll be released this month.

Final Fantasy 7 is also a good starting point too, but my only fear is that you'll become a FFVII elitist who won't touch another FF afterwards.

Winning 250k and a green knucklevest in Maplestory back when 250k was a lot of money, there was a word scramble contest held by some rich player in Ellinia Potion Shop. I still remember the answer: Sabitrama and the Diet Medicine.

Got a 100% completion on FFX-2 and I had to keep repeating the game over for quite a few times and keep referring to an online guide. To the extend I printed out the guide and it was 4-5 pages long LoL If you've played FFX-2 before you know how hard it was to get 100% completion and achieving that Last/True/Perfect ending video  :lol2: oh the enthusiasm.

Maybe his favorite number is 94? Maybe FoxtrotRomeo1 - FoxtrotRomeo93 were taken? Either way, he should sell his Xbox.

Lol yeah there's always one or two who just die constantly. Can't say I like the ranking system we have in 5. Most of the playlists I end up as platinum/gold and I still get paired up with golds against a team of onyx. Like, why? Wish they'd go back to 3's ranking. @talbs

Yeah I much prefer Halo 2 or Halo 3. There isn't much consistency because sometimes I will play with onyx (as a high diamond) and destroy them, and then other times it's the exact opposite. I know people have off games every now and then, but jeez. It was so much better when it was a simple number. Win a few games, you go up, lose a few and you go down, until you finally plateaued.

I found a soon-to-be relative in a game once. I was playing on a Lineage2 private server, been playing in a guild for a couple years, made a party to go pvp so i invited a couple members who i've been playing with for years. One of the guys asked what my last name was but i can't remember why, so i told him, he was then like... do you happen to know a *name*. I was like uhh yeah... that's my cousin. Then it was a holy shit moment because it turns out this guy that i've been playing with for ages has a sister that happens to be the girl my cousin was engaged to. The guy lives a couple minutes away from me and we had no idea :p Idk if that's an accomplishment or anything but it's definitely one of the weirdest things to happen to me, to have been playing with an almost-relative for years without knowing, on a fucking Lineage2 private server at that. Small world ay

That's a really cool find! Especially on a game titled Lineage of all things. Have you met up with this person?

Lineage was my shit back in the day :p Codex even had it's own server at one point. I've never met the guy but i know of his family through my uncle and my cousin obviously. The engagement eventually got called off so i haven't really heard about them since, but it was definitely one of the weirdest experiences i've had .
