Yeah, I'm one of two site owners. I'm kind of disappointed I didn't spend too much time on Codex, ever, even though my join date was in 2008. Yet this site is still rock solid. 

 

I'd enjoy the discussion of Codex taking possession of ZB.

What is there to merge? The users are welcome to join us if they want, most of them probably already have accounts anyway.

 

I never really understood the whole zombie theme but Zombians was probably the forum we had closest contact with and the staff on both sites would occasionally help each other out when necessary. We also both tended to stay away from the more shady side of the scene which certain other forums have taken advantage of and severely damaged Neopets so it's a pity to see how it ended up.

Way late response, but the initial "shutdown" was just a domain expiration.  Justin and Swar decided to pay for another month of hosting just to let everyone know that we will be letting go of it.

 

I'm a little disappointed in the comments.  We worked hard and we were nice people; we tried to maintain a civil relationship with Codex (unlike with the other forum, with whom we generally kept our distance).

I wouldn't take it personally, it's partly because some of our members have a tendency to be dicks, partly them being competitive/loyal and partly shadenfreude. Zombians wasn't too different to ourselves really, we shared a lot of members and had similar kinds of rules.
 

I hope so. I miss Trinket bring around.

Does this mean trinket will come around more often ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I think mostly everyone here hasn't been referencing your members in a negative way. Just expressing personal preferences with style differences, etc. And also what Waser said -- you're a competing forum, it's a little natural for some members here to take that to heart. But not all of us bite.
