I know it's meant to be classic but what about a contest to bring new  Neocodex logo ideas so you guys can revamp it? This bag of gears ain't fancy and looks outdated. 

 

It looks like I'm surfing the web from the late '90s.

I won't lie here, before I put myself out there to really try to talk to you guys here and use your programs the forum never drew my attention and never made me want to be a part of it. It looks like the forum was left to rust and the programs won't even work anymore because they are from the '60s. 

 

And it's not like that, this forum is amazing, we have really friendly users and amazing programs, it would bring a loooot more users if the forum design would show it.

I love the design, it's really easy to ready and to find stuff and doesn't look busy, I just can't stand the colors and the logo! This shade of blue looks way too formal lol

I like the colors, but you can change the theme on the bottom of every page

I know we had an advertisement competition, but I don't believe we've had a logo one. I feel like we've discussed this before, but nothing happened, or we ended up being ok with the old logo.

i redesigned the logo for my submission in sotw #86 but i think went a little cray cray with the effects hence why it wasn't very well-received.

 

i'm ok with the swag bag with gears. i think it's unique and memorable. the swag bag signifies abrosia which is neocodex main product so whatever new design we come up with, it should always be there imo.

That looks too busy to me. It should be simple and elegant, like our users.

I like this idea and agree with its style being old and outdated. But I also like the bag with the gears, it should stay if a new design is made, but give it a new look.
First impressions are so important, even more for a community like ours. If people come here wanting to get programs to help them cheat, a nice logo can help with that first sense of fear most of us got when we finally decided to say "damn you, TNT" and enter the dark side of Neopets. An old and outdated logo can pass the info that we're old (true) and we're somewhere still stuck in beginning of the millenium.
Forum activity plays a big part in this "trust process" as well because who would join a cheating community with 10 people online? But new members must pass the visual information barrier from first eye contact -where logo plays a big part- before they realise we're an active community, and step into our forums.
I think a "let's pretend we just got here and let's analise the forum with a newbie mind" exercise makes this even more evident.

I like the colour scheme, it kinda suits us, but I wouldn't be against of trying new colours as default if the logo were to be updated. Changes can be good, especially in times like these when it feels like this place really needs something fresh.
