I've lowered my Abrosia settings to a minimum and I'm still missing almost every item

I've lowered both my Pre-haggle and OCR to 0.01-0.1s and I still miss about 90% of the items I try to buy and my buy times are still very slow (2800-3500).

Is there anything more that I can do other than lower those settings further? I feel like I'm already treading dangerous waters with those delay times.

This is what my log for today looks like... It's pretty depressing

2016-05-29 16:19:06 - Missed *Item*: Sold out. (Est. Profit: 438664 NP)
2016-05-29 16:36:44 - Missed *Item*: Sold out. (Est. Profit: 80986 NP)

How fast is your internet? A speed test would be great to a server in Cali, where neo servers are, because that seems like it could be the issue here if your settings are that low and you have times like that.

If this is your fastest buytime, then you'll miss most of the item. Your delay time doesn't matter per se, if your internet connection is slow then I can be set to 0.001 and you'll be fine, but you'll miss the items, nonetheless.

So is your internet connection what really matters in ABing?

Speed test is ~54mbps, which I guess isn't too terrible but it didn't let me choose a server in Cali and I live REALLY far from there D;

Your ping to TNT servers. Ping it to US east cost and see how good it is.

It matters quite a bit, yes, but it's not the only thing. What also affects your speed, is of course your settings, and neo's servers. If the neo servers are lagging, that's going to affect your buy times. If your internet speed is incredibly slow, neo pages will load slowly, which will make it harder for you to buy items. If they're fast, the pages will load quickly (as long as the neopets server isn't lagging), and you'll have an easier time buying items.

Yup, one of the things on your side which matters the most (see KyloRen's post for more factors of course)

@Tammy Try Amazon EC2: Free registration and usage (only needs credit card, but for registration only), and allows you to run a Windows mini-computer (virtual machine) on their servers. You can pick a location fairly near Cali and then run Abrosia on it, it works fairly welll~ ;)

Guide for it is here: http://www.neocodex....ing-amazon-ec2/

(Note: Ignore the AAA guide part, AAA no longer works)

Mine is 56mb/s and ping is 6. What is a good internet connection to don't lose a lot of items while ABing?

If you mean your ping to tnt servers is 6, then it's good enough.

Thanks! :) I will look into this. I generally don't like plugging my credit card into things but Amazon is probably a trustworthy company haha

I live about 6 hours away from the neopets servers, and my buy times range from 4000MS - 8000MS =[. I'm sure that doesn't help at all lol..I'm an idiot.

No you're not :p That's actually very relevant information as up until this point I was under the impression that distance from the neopets servers was my biggest issue...

I wish I could fly around via rocket! Maybe that should be my cars name xD. Aren't the neo servers in Cali? I live in Arizona!

Negative, an Amazon VPN thing based in Virginia has a VERY low ping to the Neo servers for some reason.

What are your actual buytimes right now @Hikimaru ? Thats the 4 digits followed by "ms" on Abrosia when you do snag an item. That's the "results" data that shows how fast you are actually snagging the items.

@Tammy note that you can pick and choose the location, and can actually shut down your current Windows "instance" (the virtual computer) if the buytimes are not good, and then pick another location and test it out again. Shouldn't incur charges too: in total the free "trial" gets you, like, 25 hours per day running this thing non-stop. :p

Maybe it's the node you're at on the amazon vps thing. Since you're running a "trial" there's not much you can do :p
