Hahaha how did you become one. You don't seem the type. Seriously though do you like your job or was it like a "default" kinda choice xP

Left college and got a job as a Wages Clerk.  Hated it was super boring and not well paid £5 per week.  Started applying for other jobs, got one in an accounts firm with in house training as a Tax Accountant.  Worked there for 13 years and then left the private accountancy world as tax was getting harder and harder to help clients out with.  Moved to Dorset (5 hours away by car) and started applying for jobs in the private sector.   Started out by applying for bookkeeper/accountant jobs but eventually got my current job.

 

My official title is: Accountant to the Financial Director of the group.

 

Basically there is only 1 person above me aside from the firms directors.  We are a medium sized company trading all around the world.  We have a turnover of about 50-90m a year and employee 350+ people.  We have 34 companies that i get to visit and do varied accounts work for.  We just made it this year into the top 150 growing companies in UK.

 

Its great being out in the private world I wish I had done it a lot sooner.  Its way way more pressure but then I like to be busy so its all good.  My hours are a lot more but I cant complain I get paid good amounts of compensation for it.

On topic - it is funny that we all get bored from time to time with the internet being out there for our amusement.  There really should never be anytime to get bored but it still happens.

That's...actually a pretty great story! After reading it, I do feel quite happy for you, having gotten the job and job conditions+compensation you want.
