there was some soup left on the stove and because i was hungry i went to the kitchen and took some. my mom —upon seeing me eating the soup— asked me, "did you reheat the soup?". i simply answered, "nope, too lazy". she then babbled non-stop about how reheating the soup for only a few minutes can make the soup infinitely delicious. i just rolled my eyes.

i mean, in the end of the day it's MY stomach. besides, there are african kids who are starving right now and i'm sure they won't complain if their food aren't heated.

what is the most retarded argument you ever had in your entire life?

Probably the one in the hypothetical next five minutes for your close minded, unironic, and irresponsible use of the word retarded.

You best be careful about the use of the word retarded. It's an insult to the mentally challenged.

Anyway, I think the dumbest argument I got into was about the new lamp below me. My folks recently remodeled the kitchen and put a new low hanging lamp over the table, but the problem is, the lamp is right below the room I use the computer it, so if I move my chair or walk in this room, the lamp makes noise. This totally irritates my mother, so me and my brother pretty much can't move in this room without pissing my mother off.

One day, I adjusted my chair, and my mother came upstairs to me and told me to "not do what I just did again" because the lamp made noise again. I told her maybe she should replace that lamp if it's making a lot of noise, because I can't help it if I need to adjust anything in this room. She said "No, just stop doing things up here so the lamp doesn't shake."  I said "What, so I can't do anything up here just because you're irritated by one second of noise??"

We didn't speak for a week.

One would say it's a retarded use of that word...

I'm pretty sure mothers start most of the stupid arguments in the world. If I ever bring something up about the past that my ma doesn't like she tells me it's a false memory and never happened.

My Mom used to pick fights with me over everything. She'd be like "Don't give me dirty looks!" so I'd like awkwardly smile and she's like "Wipe that fucking grin off your face."

Moms are crazy.

Any argument I've ever gotten into on the Internet. Such a waste of time.

My mom complains about my brother every time he doesn't reheat something too. Or if he takes too long to eat it and then it's cold.

The most stupid argument that I've had recently is when a few of my sisters were butthurt over not being in a group chat I was in with some other sisters. I thought you could be friends without having to do absolutely everything together but I guess not???

By far the most idiotic argument I got into was about WoW because my coworker was telling me a story, accidentally used the wrong name for a city, and got upset when I said good story could never have happened the way he told it.

Basically he said he did world PvP in Dalaran, a sanctuary, when he meant Darnassus.

I got into an argument with a coworker over wow once...he debated my world rank and called me a liar when I showed him my wow armory and messaged him from the account...spent a week arguing until I agreed to prove I was legit and beat him 10 times in a row in pvp without dropping more than 20% health.

The dumbest arguments I've ever been in are the ones where my ex wife tells me I don't know how something feels or I couldn't possibly understand a certain feeling or that I am feeling some way...if you aren't in my head how do you know how I feel or how I understand without allowing me to explain?

There's people here who would actually know who I'm talking about so sadly I can't mention the dumbest one, or even my top five because they're all the same person.

I guess the one that comes to mind would probably have to be the fight I got into with customer service with microsoft because I couldn't understand what the guy was trying to say, due to the fact that he sounded like he had his mic in his fucking mouth.

Or trying to talk my friend out of smoking cigarettes she found on the ground when I was in high school. There was that too

Stupid argument: I live in an improperly sealed 1960s house in Florida, so, in the summer we get ants. Not always, but if he leaves too much a mess on the counter, etc. They always get in the catfood bowls. So, like 1800s, I put the bowls in a pan with some water in it. Ants can't cross the moat. But, if the bowls touch the edge, and they did last week, ants get in. He complains. I fix it. This morning, the pan ran dry (it's very hot), so ants. He complained. I filled the pan, and wait for the ants to drown, so I don't have to throw out all the catfood (the cats don't care). He complains we need to find somewhere else for the food, so the Ants can't get it. I tell him ants will always find it, and remind him we've (I've) tried several places for it. It's Florida in the summer:we'll get ants. He raises his voice, repeating his demand. I ask him to stop yelling. Then it's about how He's Not Yelling, and no longer about ants.

We go to an appt to look at a rental.

Come home, 30 seconds in the door, "why are there still ants in the food?" Because they haven't all drowned yet. Complains that I should have thrown the food away.

I'm home 30 seconds, and already being criticized. I'm so tired of it.

I got into an argument with Aurora because she tried to tell me I told her I didn't want to see Finding Dory and I know for a fact that shit was a lie because I love Finding Nemo and was super excited about Finding Dory as soon as I found out it was gonna be a thing years ago. We argued about it for 15 minutes until I told her maybe she needs to lay off the drugs because she was clearly dreaming if she thinks I would ever say I didn't want to see that movie.
