'Seriously though, these cops should be charged with second degree murder and tried in a court of law. Like everyone else. Law enforcement officers are not above the law.'

Settle down folk - respect differing opinions and keep debates civil, even if we're not in the debate section.

Philando Castile shooting dashcam video released - Story | KRIV
Umm, this was just released. Makes the other video look even worse. I don't know why he was acquitted of this one. You can say he didn't mean to kill him, but he clearly still is guilty of manslaughter and endangering a child.

I keep writing and rewriting a response to this. I'm just so angry. That officer is clearly guilty. For him to say 'if he smokes around his child, why would he care about me?' is so infuriating. That's your excuse? Really? Go fuck yourself.

Yeah, I was doing the same thing on facebook. It is soooo inexcusable. Look, I understand the officer wasn't going into the situation wanting to murder anyone, but the fact is: he did. And he endangered a child while doing it. Malicious? No. A careless act by a frightened, untrained cop that he regrets? Probably. Manslaughter? Absolutely. And he knew it, you could hear it every time his voice stammered a "fuck" and he tried to justify his actions to himself more than to his fellow officers. There is no way in hell I wouldve thought a court of our peers would find him innocent. Ugh.
I didn't hear about the "smoke around his kid" bit. That is asinine. I don't like it when people smoke around their kids, but this somehow justifies his murder? When the victim followed all protocol? It was the cop's responsibility to safely disarm the driver, after the driver fulfilled his responsibility of stating he had a CCW. I hate how people are trying to justify this

Why did I read that? Now I'm just filled with fury.
Why did that irresponsible jackass get off easy with killing an innocent person in cold blood?

"And I thought if he’s, if he has the, the guts and the audacity to smoke marijuana in front of the five year old girl and risk her lungs and risk her life by giving her secondhand smoke and the front seat passenger doing the same thing then what, what care does he give about me. And, I let off the rounds and then after the rounds were off, the little girls was screaming."
