At least one person has been killed and an unknown number injured in a shooting at a shopping centre in the German city of Munich.

A big security operation is under way, German police say. The scene in the Moosach district has been sealed off.

Reports speak of one attacker. Helicopters are over the scene and shopworkers reportedly unable to leave.

The security forces have been on alert after a migrant stabbed five people on a train in Bavaria on Monday.

The authorities had warned of the danger of further attacks.

Munich police are telling people to avoid the area.

Looks like another terrorist incident is under way in Germany, shooting reported in a shopping centre in Munich and possibly another shooting a few miles away.

Who wants to pitch in for a cabin on a desolate island away from all the frequent horrible things and horrible people of this world?

A few news sites here with live reports says the number of dead is +15. I don't know what to believe or where this sites get their sources on these things...

I don't know how Europe can continue like this. Passively waiting for tragedy to happen.

BBC seems to be saying at least 6 killed with the killer(s) still on the run.

Just seems to be one after another recently. :/

A few rumours that it might be right-wing terrorism with possibly 3 attackers, one maybe dead (suicide). Difficult to know what's true right now with the situation so confused.

News are saying it was the guy who was found dead and there was only one shooter. Motives are unclear, it sounded like the 18 year old grew up in Germany.

It just never ends. I opened the news to find out where in Germany that all is (we have family, but I have no idea where things are in relation to each other) and find this:

ISIS claims Afghanistan explosion that kills at least 61 during a peaceful demonstration by a minority group in Kabul, Afghanistan, Saturday. more than 260 wounded.

Floods kill over 150 across China, leave scores missing

Horror in the news. It just. Never ends. :(

Yeah, and apparently he was obsessed with shootings - especially the Norwegian one 5 years ago. The fact that 7 of the nine victims were teenagers is heartbreaking.

Pretty much this for me too. I used to be the type who'd read the papers religiously every day, subscribe to The Economist and read that every month...Then a few years ago figured out that any news that I really need to be informed on, would spread to me anyways. It's worked marvellously since.

Constantly making condescending posts and being a prick is totally the solution too. I'm glad you have it all figured out.
