Alright, I finally gave this show a chance, and I've gone full blown OBSESSED with it now. I know I can't be the only one around here.
If a spoiler is less than a week old, please use spoilers while discussing so we can all enjoy this thread regardless of if someone's caught up or not.

It's a chronological show that is way ahead of its time. It's about a child becoming basically a super hero, and is being taught about his history as a Crystal Gem. There are many parallels of real life issues that are put to play, and done very well.
One of the very few shows out there that my wife and I can watch without cringing due to terrible plots, sexual humor that shouldn't be there, or extreme amounts of senseless violence.
All in all, it has real substance.

I could really care less about the show, but the character-driven songs are top notch. I know more about the character in that 1-2 minute song than watching the full 11 minute episode.

Pretty much what @Shane said.
The show has really well written characters, a gripping plotline, and can actually get surprisingly dark for a kid's cartoon.
Not to mention, anything can really happen at anytime, and it takes you off guard so much.

I don't like the show (not my thing), although I have to say that the concept of things fusioning(?) is cool. I love pokefusion lol
