October Private Applications are open!

Applications will close on the 20th (I moved the date 5 days because I am moving into my new house on the 14th and may be without internet for a day or two).

 

If you meet the following we encourage you all to apply via the Apply tab:
-12 months of forum membership
-1000 posts on the forum
- Consistent activity, friendliness, and/or helpfulness
- Contributions of some sort including but not limited to programming, graphics or contests participation (remember, contributions come in all shapes and sizes)

 

If you don't meet these qualifications yet, start posting and contributing!

If you've applied and been rejected before, apply again! The application should only take a few minutes out of your day. We don't NEED an entire novel for each answer, but we also don't want to see one word answers. A couple sentences is great, bullshit your answers a little bit, we don't care, we all did it, just a little bit of effort goes a long ways.

Still not sure if you want to apply for private?? Here are a few incentives:

-Private+ only events (some include exclusive awards!)

-First (and sometimes only) access to gaming cheats & glitches

-Extra site themes(!)!

-Cool extras that are super secrets!

It's been this way for awhile but each private leader does it a little differently. I think @Jess did it based on her periods lol. xD I just do it the same dates @Rocket did.

Perhaps monthly is too regular. When i applied, the apps may have just started to become monthly, however, i remember that because they were open less frequently, i would get a butterfly in my tummy after the last closed. It was as though i felt challenged to see if i could make it to the min requirement before the next one was open, whenever that would be. It was a bit of excitement. It made me want to put careful effort into my application, because the privilege of private, seemed difficult to access.

I agree. I totally think being Private is a huge honor and something to work towards! I was so excited when I met the easiest requirement and still felt that I needed to make a great application in order to be considered. Not only did I work on post count, I made sure I created relationships with people of Neocodex and participate so people knew who I was and what I was about.

Probably because if there's a new application open every month you'll come to a bottle neck where there's only one or two people eligible to apply.

Forum activity and neopets dying will only exacerbate the system.

Right. I'm just doing it the way previous private leaders have done it. I don't really know how much leeway I have to change how it's done though, since I'm still new to this. But I can definitely agree that it's probably more exciting for people if it's less frequent.

Private applications will no longer be monthly events due to slow forum activity and few people who want to apply, or can apply. Please keep this in mind this month. You will not have another opportunity to apply for quite awhile (probably January-ish).
