I'm trying to figure out a good thing to use to hide my IP when logging into neopets now, and it seems Hotspot Shield did change it (according the the whatsmyip site). But I was wondering if any of you have used it before, and if so, if you like it or, what your viewpoint on it is and if I should use something different?

Sorry, I'm new to all this proxy stuff. O.O

It's decent for a free program, but in my experience it can slow down your connection a bit sometimes and its also not 100% reliable. Like last night it disconnected on me out of nowhere and didn't notify me.

@renegade, it changes the IP address each time you open a new browser though, doesn't it? It is okay to change IPs that often with neopets? Or wouldn't that seem suspicious? Or am I wrong with how often it changes your IP?

I'm not sure? I thought it kept the same IP until you disconnected but you would have to check with  whatsmyip. I only use it when I'm on shell accounts or accounts I don't want associated with my main. For example, I may be on my desktop ABing with my main and have my laptop ABing with a shell using hotspot shield. That way, if my sides/shells are ever frozen, my main account doesn't get chain iced along with them. As far as having several different IPs under one account... it might look suspicious but I'm not sure what they could do about it? Some people use VPNs on a regular basis just for privacy/security purposes.

I use Epic Privacy browser, and it's kept my main and shells safe*. Then I can use a normal browser to log into my main, and Epic (with its inbuilt proxy active) to log into shells. I don't think TNT notices so much anymore if you change proxies a lot. I change proxies a lot :p *I mean, safe-ish. I still get frozen for doing dumb stuff on my shells, but I've never been frozen without doing something irresponsible

I use Epic as well, I login in a lot of different accounts through it, never had any problem. I'd recommend it if the only thing you want is to login on different accounts on Neopets.

Thanks guys I'll try it out!

@jaredyne and @Hikimaru I downloaded Epic Browser but can't get it to connect to the internet. Am I doing something wrong? How do I fix it?

I used to use Epic (or Tor) but it sucks. Too slow and too many issues to deal with.

@GetJinxed introduced me to ZenMate (it's an extension you can use with Chrome or Firefox) and it's kinda perfect. I don't play Neopets anymore but I use it for other purposes. :p

@Katya I think you have to pay for that though, right?

There's a Premium membership, but you don't have to pay it to use it. I'm using the free version on a daily basis for almost six months now and I've encountered zero problems of any kind.

I found this extension for Chrome called Touch VPN, it lets you choose if you want to use it for all sites or just specific ones, and it seems to be working when I go to check on those WhatsMyIP sites. Has anyone used it before?
