Do you celebrate Thanksgiving? Do you have any plans for Thanksgiving? For the people who hate their families, do you celebrate Friendsgiving?

I'm going to a mini family reunion/birthday party for Thanksgiving. My great grandpa is turning 92 and his birthday always falls around Thanksgiving so we're all getting together and having a potluck. I have no idea what I'm bringing. I like to cook but I'm not used to cooking for large groups of people. I have no idea what to make. I'm considering making macaroni & cheese or a butter pecan cheesecake.

My family hasn't made plans, but in all honesty, I just want to skip Thanksgiving this year...

Thanksgiving is my favorite time of the year. My mom's side of the family gets together at my grandma's on long island (like forty people) and we all get trashed, play football, etc. I'm really close with some of my cousins so I really look forward to it.

And of course, Blacked Friday :D

Since my family is trash and Baldman's family is trash, we celebrate Friendsgiving. This year we are hosting a party/feast at our house since he's a staff sgt. now and he has a few airmen who don't get to go home for the holidays, live in the dorms, and are probably lonely about this time of the year. We are inviting like 15 people. I'm not sure how many will show. I absolutely love Thanksgiving. I love Thanksgiving food. And every year we toast to evolution and science, since we're not religious. I don't think we'll do our regular atheist toast this year though since we're doing it with a big group of people and I don't know who is/isn't religious.

I don't celebrate Thanksgiving. Never heard of Friendsgiving. Lol. I do enjoy partaking of the discounted Thanksgiving type foods after the day, though. Comfort food is the best. :D

I do celebrate Thanksgiving, but I won't be going home for it (second year without it). So I guess I'll be having Friendsgiving. Maybe I'll go to Winter Wonderland again.

I celebrate it.

But due to being a picky eater I only eat a small amount of things

My family is huge on Thanksgiving, its actually tiring. The day or two before my family and I prepare to make our food, like marinate the turkey or make the cookie dough. On actual Thanksgiving we take all our food me made and my family drives my about an hour to meet my Dad's side of the family at a gigantic venue. I meet people there that are my "family" that I haven't seen before in my life.  There's about 50 people. At around 3, we drive another hour to meet up with my Mom's side of the family, and I have to say, they are more "lit" af. There are at least 60 people, and you should see the food table...3 turkeys, usually, 2 Hams, and like a 2 gallons of mashed potaters. We do the same, talk, eat (a bunch). We also plan for Christmas lol. Every year, At 1 or 2 a.m, one of my older cousins brings a keg or something and we have a keg standing contest. My family and I probably end the day a little after that, get home around 3 or so.

The irony is that we aren't even white, and most of my family isn't even american. lol.

I know Thanksgiving is hella problematic but I'm not about to turn down a big ass feast with family and friends. Last year I went to a friend's across the country for Thanksgiving so it'll be nice this time to be back with my family and all of my family's recipes I love so much. We're inviting around 10 friends from around the country and probably hosting a few people from a nearby military base, which we do every year. Pretty excited to see a few of the people coming - they're very dear to me. I'm gonna be a real Pinteresty bitch and decorate the house and table and all that since I'll probably get in the way if I try and help cook
