We're going to build a wall and the US is going to pay for it.

We have one, it's called "General Paz"

I've been angry and afraid for people I care about the last few days, and I'm just so happy I'm not spending Thanksgiving with my family.  90% of them are Trump supporters.

Update from DC: the atmosphere is about as apocalyptic as you'd expect. I'm 90% sure I won't lose my job, but many of my friends and peers aren't so lucky.

In the bigger picture, I'm worried for anyone who isn't a straight white male. Feeling compelled to take on a bigger role in activism and organizing for as long as I still live here. But moving somewhere else sounds more appealing by the day...

I'm surprised the media narrative isn't as focused on the fact that H won the popular vote. The time is now to eliminate the electoral college: https://www.google.c..._amendment.html.

Yeah, pretty much my only solace has been the fact that whether people voted Hillary, Johnson, or Stein, the majority of Americans did not vote for Donald Trump.

This is a bad joke. Why is the right wing winning everywhere?

Maybe if the left didn't act hypocritical and accepted the results of an election instead of rioting or beating up Trump supporters, fewer independents would move to the right.

You could easily find a video of Clinton supporters being beaten and robbed. One off incidents after a general election isn't a valid reason for a right swing political movement.

There's a few reasons why people over the Western Hemisphere have moved slightly right.

1. Economic downturn.

Everytime there is a depression people will naturally sway to the right as generally right wing politics and economic's are better and more affective economic l as generally right wing politics and economic's are better and more affective economically.

2. The vast majority of of media is right wing

Various media outlets such as Fox News Washington post, breitbart and Newsmax dominate the vast majority of media coverage and wide range of primary and secondary audiences. In recent years, it seems whoever covers the most media outlets, has the biggest influence on political discourse.

3. There is no left wing party in America.

The democrats are seen as the left wing party in America even though economically and financially are more conservative than most American/European countries.

The greens are not influential at all and independent candidates barely register any votes.

On top of that, America has been led by a "left wing" candidate for 8 years, and most voters like change occasionally, even if it's for the worst.
