Have you ever felt like a plastic bag?

How does someone know how a plastic bag feels?

How do you think the decline of neopets will affect neopets cheating forums?

A few years late asking this... Some communities can definitely hold up as there are still a bunch of players. For me, it started as a hobby and it still is.

If there were an outbreak of a disease in 600 people and we prepared a two treatments, but you had to select which we used, which would you select based on the stipulations below?

A: This treatment will result in a guarantee of 200 people dying.
B: This treatment has a 33% chance of zero people dying, and a 66% chance of all 600 people dying.

We're asking the questions here, not you!

I'm not the one being asked, but if I were in that situation, I'd like to know the p-value first, thank you. (Yes, I did learn about that last month otherwise I wouldn't answer something from someone else's AmA)

As stated, so p(a) = 1.0 for 200 deaths and p(b) = .66 all deaths, and .33 no deaths, respectively.

I... don't know how to work with the numbers actually LOL all I know is that I shouldn't go for higher than .05

That's probability 5%. It actually depends on what you're doing it for. In this case, it's not really about the probability of the events, but how the question was framed.

Hi Coops, based on the stipulations provided, I feel B is the right direction for a better decision. A seems to classify under murder more than B. :(

Maybe once or twice in my lifetime. I don't know for sure

The p-value I'm talking about isn't regular probability, by the way. It's more about how accurate the treament is, so simply having a 66% chance of everyone dying and 33% chance of saving everyone isn't enought to give me the p-value :p All I know is that the way to calculate the p-value is very complicated and that's why we didn't really learn how to, because computers do it faster lmao (also I'd choose treatment A if that's all the info I had, 66% is too high to risk everyone's lives)

Interesting. I expected you to pick B because of how I framed it.

Oh, that sounds more like probability for psychology and stuff.

And that's interesting.  I would pick A as well. But researchers expect people to pick B because of how the question is phrased (guaranteed loss of life and potential for zero loss of life). They tend to expect risk-avoiding behavior with how it's framed, generally speaking. But you and I are similar in how we think, so I'm not surprised we picked the same answer.

Yeeeah, there are a bunch of tests to find out the p-value, it's hell.

Oh, cool! It makes sense, learn something new everyday. And I mean, great minds think alike, you know? x)

Man, I would absolutely choose option A-- I look at it as being a guarantee that you will save 400, whereas it is absurdly too likely that every single person will die, saving none. No one can fault you for a treatment with 67% efficacy, but you might be jailed for one with 0% efficacy. Sorry, we is taking over Jo3's thread.

Suppose that you chose to stay in a place for an indefinite amount of time around people who overtly or covertly despise you for whatever reason. What are three possible reasons explaining why you willingly decided to put up with the trouble of being around those people? You may use any context or background information of your choosing to answer this question.

You are in the last stage of a job interview where the employers of your dream job are willing to hire any of the remaining applicants. At this point, the employers can't care less about your qualifications or skills. Instead, they want to know more about your personal life and what you do to enjoy your free time. What are some things you would tell about yourself in your final interview?

Why do you even bother with NeoCodex?

I would most likely pick to be a Pterodactyl.

I would not choose to be around people that covertly despise me because I believe there is no need to be around any form of negativity in life. But I don't want to render your question irrelevant here so I'll just have to say perhaps I am interested in these people, friends I used to be close with but don't see around anymore or these people have made some sort of an impact on my life.

I'd tell the interviewer I was able to turn my hobby into a career. This hobby helped me get through some very difficult times in my life... And of course, I love what I do.

Why do you even bother with NeoCodex?

Danggg. Interesting question and interesting answer. Also not my AMA but I would have gone with A. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few or the one.
