Hey guys,

I recently bought a Canon 550D for the purpose of proper visual and especially video documentation of my upcoming graduation project. In the meantime I can't resist playing around with it  :) So this topic'll be a dump of pictures I've shot. One big melange of composition-, lighting- and postprocessing-experiments.

Keep in mind that when I'm walking around shooting pictures I have no clear goal, and most subjects are just completely random. Perhaps I'll find more purpose later on lol.

This night's results; walking around the neighbourhood in a foggy twilight, and two indoor pictures. Tried to capture a sort of unnerving/spooky vibe, but ended up a little more rustic.

That hint of purple sky is really striking!

Oh, these are so pretty! I've never really gotten the hang of photography, but seeing photos like these make me want to try again. :D

I especially love that last one and how the street lamps look + their reflection in the water! Super pretty. <3

Haven't gotten around to any more hobby photography since opening this thread, but did make some sweet images for my graduation

This one's an actual photograph, that I edited heavily for a poster (left out the text-part because irrelevant for this thread)

And these are stills from a trailer I shot for the project. So technically not photography, but they ended up really cool :)

If you're wondering, "Why is your camera so shitty that it leaves chromatic abberation (the green and pink lines on the edges)?", it's not, it's an effect I purposely edited in. The project relies heavily on the mechanic of VHS tapes, so I added sometimes subtle, sometimes unsubtle effects in to either recreate it or slightly hint to it :)

Thanks :) I didn't take any classes. My mom's a photographer so I picked up some technical skills from her. I'm also a theatre student so I like to tell myself I have a reasonable grasp of scenography, I can imagine it helps seeking out pretty pictures. For the rest it's all just playing around and trying out stuff. There's a lot of pictures that didn't make the cut :)

Some new work :) Paired my best friend up with my mom for a photoshoot. I decided to bring my own camera as well, so while they were working together I snapped some pics :)

We're doing an Agatha Christie play, a murder mystery completely in black and white. I shot some pics of the set :) Although the images are converted to black and white, when the lights and their filters are in place the set will be in actual black and white, in real-life.
