I've been wondering for some time now - why most of the "broken" items on Neopets are way more expensive than the "normal" ones? Those are usually toys. In fact, you can easily obtain a broken toy from the regular one when your pet plays with it, so where this difference in the prices comes from? Any ideas?

Probably because of the avatar you can get repairing items?

Maybe, but still - you can buy the regular item for cheap, break it and then repair it. I'd understand if it was hard to break the item but usually it take just a few tries.

Sounds like a decent moneymaking scheme. Maybe making some sort of simple bot to play with a bunch of toys.

how do you break an item?

Not all items can be broken, but you can break the breakable ones when you play with them, Sometimes you need to play with them several times till they break. There are items that give you other items when you break them - the pinatas for example.

There are broken snowglobes being sold for like 2x the regular price its ridiculous!
