I am curious.

How do you relax without drugs and electronics? When I say no drugs, I mean you can't use the things you find in a drug store like pills and syrups, but you can still get the pharmacological effects from the natural sources of those drugs. For example: using certain willow bark to experience the effects of aspirin. When I say no electronics, I mean the electronics cannot be the source of your enjoyment and pleasure. For example, you can use a table lamp to read a hard copy book, but you cannot use a tablet, phone, or computer to read an electronic copy of that book or watch videos.

So, how do you do it?

Spoiler

I actually love mediation and yoga when my body isn't hurting too much. And I've found my physical therapy has been really relaxing for me. Alternatively, I love to lay on a cold floor and just close my eyes for a bit.

I sometime stare at the wall while sit down, without feeling anything for some hours. I guess no feeling is akin to no stress.

Masturbation, though that is usually aided by electronics. If you want to be strict about the "no electronics" rule, I do some meditation as well. I'm a bit slack at that honestly but I try to do some every day I go to work / have an engagement or something.

Otherwise, a majority of my "relaxation" time is pretty much facilitated by electronics, whether via phone, laptop, or gaming devices. My lifestyle is also very stay-at-home at this point in my life, perhaps contributing to that.

I should go out more I guess.

Walking and/or sleeping. Nothing else seems to work for me ATM ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I usually write or draw. Usually use my laptop for that but if I don't have access I'll use paper

Cat pets are pretty essential to life. Especially when they are purry and shit. /ᐠ。ꞈ。ᐟ\

I like climbing or any other way of expelling excess energy (in a non-violent matter).

Eventually I think I'll enjoy reading for pleasure as a way to relax but I'm still easing myself into that hobby

I don't really destress without the help of electronics (I just watch shows to take my mind off things) but I've been kinda stressed lately so I just wanna say thank you for this thread and I'll definitely take some of these suggestions. T__T

Going for a walk with or without doggo. Especially if the air is nice and cool and there's a slight breeze.

Have a nap in the sun. Although that relaxes me too much and I'm super groggy and spaced out for the rest of the day.

Sex.

Sleep lets me disconnect from the world for a little while.  I also like to bake, particularly because I crave for sweet food when I'm stressed.

Recently, I got a fidget cube. It's fun and relaxing to use. ^_^

I just bought one of those (only it's a crystal not a cube) Hopefully it's as good as they say
