So, the FCC chair guy is putting forward a proposal to end net neutrality (https://www.theverge...-net-neutrality). For those who don't know, it basically means ISPs cannot have paid fast lanes, they cannot throttle if you hit a certain amount of data usage, or let's say you pay for a cheaper plan, they cannot throttle you and they cannot block websites and apps. If this is revoked, this could have seriously dangerous implications about internet access for middle-class and poor folk, in addition to small businesses, NGOs, non-profits, etc.

Here's some light reading to help you better understand net neutrality (because I suck at explanations): https://www.publickn.../net-neutrality

If you are living in the US, please take the time to leave a comment on the FCC's proposal (just go to this website and it tells you what to do and offers suggestions about what to write): https://techcrunch.c...net-neutrality/

errr- I live in a place with exactly one internet provider. They do whatever the fuck they want. I end up throttled every month.

Yeah, it was like that for me in Alaska. And it's seriously so fucked up.

I like every aspect of Net Neutrality. Not much else for me to say here.

Wait, I thought the FCC favored Net Neutrality? Guess I was wrong.

Anyways, this reminds me of the infographic I did a while ago for school (should probably fix it since it's a tiny bit out of date now): http://s3images.coro...DkmwGcUFzp6.pdf

Anyways, I'm doin' dis. The last things I need are throttled rates.
