Who else self-medicates?

I've been struggling with various physical and mental issues all of my life so I do a lot. I am on 5 medications , but they don't really fix anything.

I've used cannabis , kava , kratom , alcohol , passion flower (they grow here) , and a lot more than I can't remember at the moment.

Unfortunately I tend to binge with both food an drugs. Right now I just took a whole bag of kratom (32 grams) and I'm regretting it big time!

And if I'm frisky... ibuprofen.

Nicotine. Cigarettes and gum ...

Lemme tell you though that gum hits me harder than smoking ten cigarettes in a row does. Let it sit on your gums and you have a head high that lasts quite a while ..

Kratom I have used off and on..for many years...I can live without it (but I prefer not to). If you haven't already please hook up with AKA and help keep it legal.

Right now it's being heavily scrutinized in Canada (and will probably lose) because no one there is organized to fight against Big Pharm lobby.

Oh wow! I'll check that out. I have mad respect for the plant after all it's done for me. For a while they made it illegal here in Atlanta.

Crohns Disease. It is either take 24 pills a day that don't really help or create an appetite or marijuana  to really curb the pain, enable an appetite to form, and help me get and stay in remission for longer.

I don't self-medicate, mostly due to lack of resources and hook-ups, but now I'm finally medicated legitimately (e.g. doctor prescribed). It's not perfect but it has helped my chronic pain a lot.

I take some supplements that help with some mental and physical stuff I'm dealing with. Maca and l-theanine, ZMA if I remember to take it.

I used to fuck with... Pretty much anything under the sun, you name it, I tried to kill my demons with it.

Now? Just shit I have prescriptions for. Mostly just xanax and weed.

And yes, I do use both of those things legally.

(Last post I'll do on this cause I'm not trying to hijack the board or sound radical, lol)

There were a lot of places where the lobby 'tried' to make it illegal. They succeeded in a lot of the southern states and there are places where it is 100% not legal - like a lot of herbals that are harmless - and the vendors in those places lost their livelihoods. The DEA also tried to put it into the same schedule as marijuana (which would make it impossible to study) but they backed off when it saw how many people, professionals included, supported Kratom and there was zero reason for it to be scheduled with LSD....though none of them should be in that group IMO.  Florida was a HUGE win due to all the pill mill money that was there. Even the liberal reps were being paid to say things that don't stand up to science....one of them said some really gross, unfounded things that just sounded like a smear campaign.

Anyways, Kratom and regular tea are all I use, so I'm not big on MJ but I have always supported the MJ community and don't want Kratom to end up like what's happened to cannabis......just because some guys with money didn't want their pill operation to go under.
