I came back to Neopets a few weeks ago after I went on hiatus for uni in 2010. I made an account on NeoCodex because I use the item database often enough.

I like betting in FC.

I don't like the post-conversion zafara body model because it looks like a potato in even the prettiest of dresses.

Surely we'll all get along

Do you like cats? Here are my cats.

What are your cat's names? They are so adorable. *-*

Hello everyone! Thanks for the warm welcome  ^_^

Sorry for the late response. I had a crazy weekend. The future FIL, who works overseas, insisted on staying with me and the SO last minute this past weekend. I would have liked at least two days of notice so I could clear the cat stuff out of the guest bedroom x_x

@Coops and @Nymh
Your catbabies are adorable!!! Toast and Tucker look like fluffy little clouds <3

I need get around to moving more pictures of Moofy (Siberian tabby) and Elsa (Siamese) off my phone.

I got Moofy--"Moofington" when he's in trouble--from a foster home. I spent three heartbreaking weeks brushing out his matted fur after I got him acquainted with my house. He was only with the foster home for a week, so I think he accumulated the mats from the animal shelter. Perhaps they kenneled him and he had no room to clean his three coat layers? He's such a friendly little guy.

Elsa's previous owners had to move and couldn't take her with them. She was the last of a litter of six they couldn't adopt out. She and her siblings have wintery names (e.g. Jack Frost, Rudolph, Holly, etc.) since they were born on Christmas Eve. She can be a bit standoffish when you first meet her, but she's really sweet and affectionate once you get to know her. I kept her Disney name since I think it's so fitting c:

I had the same troubles with Toast that you did with Moofy (cute name by the way). He is adorable and I'm glad he's got you to look after him now. Mats can be so awful for a cat. Toast's skin is very sensitive and his mats were physically pulling his skin because they were so bad. :(

I love siamese cats. They are always so pretty and Elsa has a pretty cool birthday.

What does Cooper look like head-on? His eyes are pretty unique! Is it heterochromia?

It was a pain getting Moofy to sit still for brushing so I would sing to him in a goofy voice:

If you want the treats, you have to be brushed

If you want to be brushed, you have to sit still!

It's been half a year and he hasn't gotten a single fur mat, but he'll waddle over expecting food whenever I sing that tune xD

No heterochromia in Cooper. I've heard from on vet it's a birthmark and another vet told me he probably had an infection in his eye at some point. We have had him since 2012. So, I can't really say what's the deal. He doesn't have a hard time getting around so who knows.

Oh that's so smart. Maybe I need to do that with Toast. He's hard to brush. He loves getting brushed on his chest and back, but don't go near his tummy. He was abused so it's hard. We don't wanna wreck our relationship with him by dematting and brushing areas that are sensitive. His tumtum and around his butt are the only areas that get mats now. It took two years for him to warm up to us. We are thinking of getting him groomed. There is some miracle worker groomer my vet recommended to us.

Awww poor Toast ; - ; I'm sorry he was abused in the past. You guys are so lucky to have each other in your lives!

I considered taking Moofy to get professionally groomed. Pet grooming is still unregulated in a lot of states. The groomers I scouted out were really rough with the cats they were dematting, so I opted to do it myself. If you take Toast to the groomer, then you should definitely let the groomer know about his medical history and past trauma.

Officially? About a week ago. The meth heads a few houses over pretty much were going to let her die. They were pretty mean to her too, she won't even LOOK in the direction of their house. But, she had an emergency spay (Because she's a tiny malnourished kitten and was pregnant. Vet said if we let her give birth she'd either die, or have extreme complications.) She's also flea free now, and her sores are healing. She's even put on some weight now.

She's also really, really, really sweet. I'm glad I adopted her. She still doesn't have an official name yet but I keep calling her miss kitty. So that'll probably be it.

Okay! Haha I was making sure. I'm really derpy with communication. Fish's eyes are so cute. His pupils are almost always huge. His irises are yellow-gold.

Oh my goodness. Miss Kitty's previous home situation was terrifying! Your poor baby ): I'm so happy you were able to help her in time. Does her previous household know she's with you now?

Elsa's previous owners assumed Elsa's mom was spayed--she wasn't. She escaped on an autumn day, got pregnant, and the previous owners didn't even notice until she gave birth in a closet on Christmas Eve.

I had no idea either until I asked a vet about grooming my sister's 15-year-old cat, Emma. I was worried the trip would be too traumatizing for a cat her age.

Spoiler

I wanted to apologize for disappearing for two weeks. I had a family emergency back home (halfway across the US). Fortunately, things are more stable now ^^' I was also super lucky my boss was understanding and let me telecommute for a week, so I only ended up using two days of PTO.

Thanks, Coops :3

Emma is so derpy sometimes xD We got her a couple years after our first cat passed away. It was my little sister's first experience with loss and she started acting out afterwards (e.g. fake IDs for concerts, going to college parties at age 16, skipping classes, etc.). So...I started looking at cats in need of rehoming on CL in order to find my sister a companion she so desperately wanted. Emma was the first and only cat we met because she and my sister instantly clicked! She follows my sister around the house like a little tail and even sits with the family at dinner.

The family emergency was such a mess @_@ My mom got into a pretty bad car accident while she was out looking for my sister, who took Emma and "ran away" to a friend's house. She is still recovering from a surgical procedure done in July, so the accident really set her back. I hope to all that is good in the world that my sister learned some sort of lesson from all of this. Although I can't fault her too much for running away. Our parents have been really hard on her lately because she's applying to colleges this year. I think they'll be okay now--I helped my sister find a therapist to talk with, so hopefully she can work through her issues.

Emma sounds absolutely lovely and totally sweet! It's incredible when someone bonds like that with an animal. Cooper is like Emma with me. And our cat Toast is like that with my husband. xD

I'm sorry to hear about your family troubles, it sounds like so much to deal with and I'm sure that's incredibly frustrating and difficult. I hope your mom gets well. :( But I'm glad you think everything will work out okay.

Damn, if you need someone to talk to about stuff hit me up.

Here's my cat to cheer you up. I call her miss kitty but she also responds to baby. So, call her either she doesn't mind.

She's a cuddler.
