General Game Rules

Each participant must try to solve all the key details of the murder - murderer, weapon, location, motive. There are also additional questions that will reveal more clues when solved.
Each participant should check in with the host ONCE every day via the same PM, answering as many of the puzzle questions as they can (see below for questions). They will earn a point for every question they get right that day, as well as for every question they had already answered correctly. Therefore, earlier answers earn more points overall.
Participants will be told if they submit an incorrect answer.
The player with the most points at the end is declared the winner.
You may submit your daily clue solutions at any time before the end of the 24 hours to receive points for the questions answered correctly. Not all questions are answerable from the first day.
Participants may not discuss the puzzles via PM with other members, in order to avoid cheating!
Although you may only submit answers for a clue set once every 24 hours, you may discuss your theories and any clues in the master thread as much as you like.
The host may release guesses without revealing who guessed what throughout the game. This is strictly up to the host.
The winner may have the option to host the next murder mystery if they want. Please use the guidelines thread to host.
Additional Information
Some helpful tips for players: do not think the clues are linear. The clues may be out of order. You may need to combine clues to figure out an answer. Think outside the box.
All clues will be presented in a spoiler tag. There will be no clues outside of a spoiler tag. See below for the clue format. This is to ensure hosts do not trick players unfairly. Note: the line identifying the clue will not be identical - this is just to give you an idea of what to look for.

Example Scoring
Sweeney answers the first question on the first day, earning one point.
Sweeney cannot answer anything new on the second day. He earns one bonus point for solving question one. Two points total.
Sweeney answers questions two and three on day three. He earns two points for the new answers, and one more bonus point for question one. Five points total.
IF Sweeney had answered question two on day two, he would have had six points total by day three. Answering earlier is better, but getting stumped for a bit doesn't throw you out of the running!

What is the murder weapon?
Where is the victim's dossier?
Who is the killer?
How do you access the secret passage?
Where did the murder take place?
Where is the safe, and how is it opened?
What was the motive for the murder?
Many of the available clues are red herrings. There is a logical, physical or thematic link between puzzle-parts that go together - you will not be able to simply pair a cipher with a decoder!
All of the clues are in my blog, "The Game is Afoot - Season 2". More rooms will open up on the day following questions 1, 3, 5, and 7 being answered. You CAN NOT answer all the questions until the final room is unlocked!
The game will be concluded at the end of the 24 hour period after the one where someone solves all eight questions. In other words, you get one day to try to catch up! I will tell you when this happens.

I am so interested to go through this. It's been fun watching Joe develop this (from afar, without gaining any information about it ).
I need to donate too. I meant to donate to the last one. I kinda dropped off Codex completely for a minute after the Scavenger Hunt. I would like to donate a Royal PB.
